Guest Review: ‘A Day Mountain Biking in Tignes

Guest Review: ‘My favourite day in Morzine last summer

New to biking? We’ll get you started…

Biking in the French Alps is a fantastic adventure for all ages and abilities with hundreds of miles of tracks and trails all served by a lift system that’ll whisk you to the top in no time. All of our resorts have easy-cruising trails and family routes for all ages. Then, as you progress - you can move on to more technical trails at altitude that grade from green to black.

Why not rent a full suspension bike during your week? If you’re a confident trail rider, then a ‘full-suss’ bike will allow you to explore the higher terrain using the lift system

Intermediate & Advanced riders

If you're a confident rider then  grab your lift pass and head for the hills! Try from an exciting array of specially made Freeride and Downhill courses just waiting to be ridden. There’s lots of variety for all levels, from easy routes for beginner downhillers to moderate trails and steeper courses like the famous Avalanche Cup.

You might enjoy taking a guide for the day. At reception, our team can help organise a group of likeminded guests to share the cost (from €35pp for a group of 6-8)

Top Tip: For Tignes the bike lift pass is free! Try an E-bike from €60 per half day.

Our Bike Hosts & Guided Bike Rides

Our Bike hosts are important members of our team. Their role is to help you make the most of the area (on two wheels!) and to ensure your bike is professionally maintained and rolling smoothly all week. They will help get you orientated, find the best trails and give you route cards with ride suggestions.

We also organise a complimentary guided bike ride (with a Pro Guide) for all our Les Gets guests. It’s a great way to get an introduction into using the lifts and trails at altitude.

Free-use bike fleet - Specialized

We have a large range of bikes from leading brand Specialized which are free to use with all our holidays, so you can grab a bike from our racks and go for an adventure. There’s plenty of bikes to go around and we have bikes of all sizes and kids bikes too.

Our bikes are Specialized hardtails with front suspension and disc brakes. They will soak up the valley floor trails and the gentler high altitude runs with ease. With light-weight frames and performance-driven parts - our bikes are well set up and maintained by our own team of mechanics.

In our Les Gets hotel we even offer free-use of our Electric mountain bikes which are a real blast and will have you hooked from the first pedal stoke!

Family and Beginner Rides

Families are in for a real treat! Explore an array of alpine tracks and trails that lead through forests, alongside rivers and up at altitude…family trails that use the lifts and take in the beautiful scenery along the way.

The local biking routes offer a spectacular day out, with lake-side stopovers for lunch and paddle sports or sunbathing to break up the day. Families with minimal off-road riding experience can use some of the local lifts to explore the easier ’family bike routes’ at altitude. You can also try using a mountain guide, (which our reps can organise), who can show you where to go and give you tips and knowledge along the way. We have a selection of bikes for all ages, 4 and up.
