The French Alps were made for mountain biking! Whether you’re mad about biking, or just curious to ‘give it a go’… our holidays will have everything you need!
*Guiding is not included in Tignes
Allow your adrenaline to surge as you swoop round banked corners and over whoops and humps, following the flow of the Singletrack course down the mountain. Then ride the lift back up and do it all over again!
Try any number of specially made Freeride and Downhill courses of varying difficulty: from Green and Blue to Red and Black. Do heed the signposts and pick the trail that suits your ability, and remember that all lift-assisted trails (Green to Black) suit more confident riders. We recommended renting a full suspension bike to make the most out of the terrain.
Do join our Introduction to Mtn Biking (using lifts) session which should set you up nicely for a week of awesome trail riding.
Make use of your 3 days of free mountain bike hire with all catered holidays (6 days for Val d’isere) and explore the network of valley floor trails, forest paths and family rides; or use the lift system and discover high mountain routes. We recommend trying a full suspension bike to get the most out of the trails, which for a small upgrade cost will maximise the fun factor.
You can upgrade any 3 days (free) hire to 6 days from only £49. Our new fleet of ‘Specialized’ bikes come with front suspension and disc brakes and come expertly maintained by our own mechanics.
If you’ve ever fancied the rush of riding a full suspension bike on REAL mountain terrain, then let us help you get started this summer! Our Introduction to Mountain Biking Using the Lifts lesson (€35) is ideal if you are new to the Alps but have some trail riding experience. This taster session will set you up for a week of spectacular riding.
Discover beautiful scenery, alpine tracks and trails that lead through forests, alongside rivers and up at altitude…family trails that even use the lifts!
Families are in for a real treat! The local mountain biking routes offer a spectacular day out, with lake-side stop overs for lunch and paddle sports or sunbathing to break up the day. Families with off-road riding experience can also try cruising the selection of easier ’family bike routes’ using the lifts where you’ll see stunning views of Mont Blanc.
We have a selection of bikes for all ages, 4 and up. And some Specialized fat-tyre bikes which suit ages 5 or 6 and up.
Whether you are a novice rider or seasoned expert - our hand-picked resorts each offer a suitable experience with a bike lift system, world class bike facilities and hundreds of miles of tracks and trails.
Val d’Isere and Tignes have the benefit of a FREE lift pass for bikers with our Activity Pass, (included with all holidays). The trails here are more limited for novice riders, so if you’re new to the sport then we’d recommend Morzine and Les Gets where lift passes start at £4 per uplift or £110 for a week’s pass.
All of our resorts offer a huge network of freeride and cross-country singletrack trails through stunning alpine terrain. Expect a large variety of downhill courses with their bumps, berms, banked c
