About La Rosiere

La Rosiere is a high altitude ski resort (1850m) in the Tarentaise valley with snowsure slope until end of April. It shares a cross border ski area with La Thuile in Italy to offer more than 160 Km’s of pisted trails and lots of accessible off piste on top of that. It’s the perfect resort for beginners, families and progressing intermediates. But La Ros’ also has a following with advanced skiers and snowboarders with its excellent off piste descents and ski touring itineraries. Heli-skiing can be done on the Italian side, which marks it as a true destination for all levels

Beginner Skiing La Rosiere

The green pistes near to the central area of La Rosière or the Eucherts area are perfect to start skiing or snowboarding. Allowing for a gentle start to your learning. A 'ski carpet' lift and lifts specifically for beginners are easily accessible, whether you’re with a ski lesson or not.

About the Skiing & Boarding

Inters The wide and sunny blue pistes of La Rosière, allow you to consolidate your core skills and really enjoy yourself. Modern and comfortable chairlifts are found throughout the ski area and enable you to reach the summit of the Fort where you can admire the magnificent view of the Mont-Blanc massif.

Advanced Red pistes are on hand for the thrills and they are spread out around the resort on both the French and Italian side. Take the Tétras and Rouvinettes (blue) pistes which lead you to the Fontaine Froide piste from the summit of the Roc Noir. This piste will take you to Ecudets and you’ll appreciate the rest after effectively descending 1140m.

Experts Black pistes are made for you… and you won’t be disappointed. Given your level and your physical condition, head over to the new black piste “Etagne” (meaning, female Ibex) on the Mont Valaisan sector. With its 74% angled wall, you may warm up the thighs and it’s to be expected! You want more? Then head over to Italy and the piste number 4, named “la François Berthod”. This piste regularly welcomes stages of both the ski and telemark world cup.

Around La Rosiere

Spreading from France into Switzerland , the ski area makes for a multi-national estination for skiers, culture-lovers and foodies. Skiing over the border is a special moment, and will stay in your memory.

More advanced skiers can take on the steep pistes of Mont Valaisan (2,800m) and can ski right from its summit.

A more chilled out ski experience can be found on the easier sun-facing pistes right across the resort. Children will love having fun on the themed pistes.

Non-skiers won’t be idle (uness they mant tobe!), with a wide choice of activities and services in-resort. If the purpose of your holidays is to disconnect and enjoy some total relaxation then the various wellness centres are definitely worth a visit. During the day, why not meet up on a restaurant terrace overlooking the valley and enjoy a leisurely lunch under the sun?
