Imagine mountain biking without limits - where going uphill is just as fun as coming down! An electric mountain bike will open up more of the mountain to you, allowing you to explore far from the public trails and giving you the confidence (and power) to travel longer distances, knowing that you can always ‘turn on the electric’ to get back home. They’re suited to all abilities - from beginner riders to expert downhillers.
E-bikes will help you get around the mountains and trails much faster and cover more distance than ever before. And you don't need a lift pass (unless you want to use the lifts).
We offer full suspension bikes for beginner downhillers and hard hitters - and yes they’re just as good (if not better) than conventional, high spec downhill bikes. They are capable of soaking up any terrain - and at higher speeds - so it even makes valley floor trail riding lots more fun!
Our hardtail E bikes (front suspension only) are for easy trail riding on forest paths and green trails. Our E-Aspect bikes will give you hours of trail riding energy and will help you ascend even the steepest of hills with the minimum of effort.
An Electric bike has a pedal-assist motor meaning that the motor will boost every pedal stroke you make and allow you to cover many more miles of terrain. Riding up a relatively steep incline means you'd only need to put in the same amount of energy as if you were riding along a very gradual incline, which sounds like a pretty fine idea!
Electric bikes are certainly here to stay. They allow us to access mountain trails where motor bikes and 4x4 are banned off-road. Electric bikes have been likened to motocross bikes as they allow you to charge up a steep rutted track...but they're far safer and anyone can use them with basic bike riding skills.
The battery has three modes from Eco to Boost and the battery will last approx. 3 to 5 hours before you need to switch battery or plug-in (to a mountain restaurant) whilst having lunch. There's even ten (free) charge points across the Portes du Soleil if you don't want to have lunch!
