A very popular variation on climbing, Via Ferrata are high mountain routes for adventurous alpinists as you move your way through stunning rugged scenery

A variation on climbing, Via Ferrata, are high-level footpaths and rocky ascents found in the Alps which use fixed climbing aids: wire ropes, rungs, pegs, ladders, and bridges to surmount difficult sections of mountain terrain.

Discover the REAL mountain!

Via Ferrata mostly consist of rope assisted walks and moderate to easy climbs which do not require any special climbing skills, giving everyone an opportunity of all fitness levels to move through spectacularly exposed alpine scenery with a minimal of equipment.

Via Ferrata are suitable for all ages and abilities from 10 years and up and require no specialist climbing skills. Check out the movie below with Sarah and Pete our Morzine guests from summer 2016.

You will be led by a guide and instructor as you move through spectacular mountain scenery.

The Low Down

Run by a specialist climbing school, your instructor and guide will pick you up and transport you the short distance to the location. This is a great half-day out (with an early start) and offers superb value as you discover new places and a really unique way of seeing the mountains. Perfect for friends and family or other hotel guests which runs in sociable groups of 8 to 12 people.

They are very enjoyable and highly popular mountain scrambles and climbs which do not require any special climbing skills giving everyone an opportunity to move through spectacular, exposed alpine scenery with minimal equipment and stunning scenery. Or try a ridge-walk at altitude, through forest, over meadows and across mountain passes stretching across the Franco-Swiss border using the ski-lift system to cover great distances and visit far-flung villages and mountain restaurants.
