Nordic Walking

Nordic Walking is an enhancement of ordinary walking – something we can all do, yet twice as effective! First, the poles help propel the walker along, and second, the walker works harder than usual (working those upper body areas) yet the support from the poles makes it feel easier!
  • Fun Factor
  • Fitness Level
  • Difficulty: Low difficulty
  • Twice as effective as ordinary walking
  • Route Cards available from your Rep
  • Free-use of poles at our hotels
  • Free walking lift pass for all our guests
  • Mountain guide from 25€ p/pers (groups 4-8+)

Benefits of Nordic Walking Poles

  • Poles ensure that the upper body muscles are used as well as the legs.
  • Poles help stabilise the walker over tricky terrain.
  • You will burn about 20% more calories compared to walking without poles.
  • Release tension in your neck and shoulders.
  • Improve your posture and gait.
  • Strengthen your back and abdominal muscles.
  • Reduce the impact on your joints.

And because Nordic Walking doesn’t feel like hard work you’ll be happy to walk further and for longer, especially when combined with a free lift pass to reach those high vantage points easily!.

Walking with poles in our resorts

Most serious hikers walk with poles these days, the benefits are clear. We stock a variety of poles for all sizes in our hotels and they are free to use. Armed with a set of poles and your (free) lift pass, you can discover many hundreds of trails across the Portes du Soleil (Morzine) which cross the Franco-Swiss border and in Tignes-Val D’Isere, you will find some epic walks from the resort up to the glacier snow line!

Ask our Active Reps for some Route Cards for itinerary suggestions.
