Our Hotel Christiania is a great hotel for alpinists, families and bikers. It’s in the centre of Les Gets and comes fully equipped for alpine holidays for everyone, plus some extra facilities for bikers. The Christiania Active Pack is more geared to beginner and family bike enthusiasts but if you’re a seasoned rider looking for a pure bike holiday (and you’re not fussed about the activities) then consider our Active Pack Lite for a larger holiday discount.
Les Gets is the MTB hub of the Portes du Soleil. It is a great family and beginner bike area but also hosts World Cup events and many other bike events all summer. Consequently, th resort has carved itself out as the leading bike destination in the PDS and has world-class facilities and a buzzing atmosphere
To top it all - the Hotel Christiania is right in the thick of the action, just 50 metres from the main Chavannes lifts, a short stroll (or ride) from the pump tracks and views of the downhill courses from most bedrooms.
For our hotel Christiania only, you may like to try our Active Pack Lite for a £50 discount (pp). It’s just a nominal discount for opting out of the premium activities in our ‘Free Active Pack’ (like rafting, paddle boarding etc) and tends to suit out-and-out bikers, young kids and guests who are mainly here for the walking. If you change your mind later, (i.e. in resort), the cost will be £174 to add it back on. So do make sure you are completely sure before asking for the LITE discount.
We have a range of the latest E-Bikes at our hotel Christiania, and we offer a free session for all guests on our excellent hardtail E-bikes*. Our Active Team will give you some great route suggestions for an E-bike adventure so you can explore tracks and trails which are far from the crowds and away from the communal lift-system. You can upgrade your free session to a full day and guarantee yourself a fun day out.
*Not free for Active Lite or kids under 12.
If you are staying in our Hotel Christiania, we can hook you up with our recommended professional guides and enjoy a half or full day blast. We can organise a private guide for your group or you can join a group with other guests to share the cost. Simply ask our Active Team (or reception) on arrival and they will see if they can hook you up with other like minded guests.
Guides will run groups for beginners, progressive intermediates and advanced riders, which will take in some of the local high altitude trails; or even a full-day tour of the Portes du Soleil crossing the Franco-Swiss border for a day of pure adventure.
Riders in the beginner group can use our complimentary Specialized hardtail bikes, but the inter/progressive group will need to use a full-sus bike with good quality, hydraulic brakes - either their own bike or a rented one. Bikes rent from €60 from local suppliers but we recommend booking in advance. Guests can bring bikes out (for no charge) on our transfer coach.This group will also need a lift pass (from €5 per uplift).
All of our main hotels (which cover our chalets too) have in-house mechanics to look after our fleet of free-use bikes. However, in Christiania we take it up a gear. In this hotel we have a dedicated guest-workshop facility with all the tools you’ll need to keep your own steed rolling.
We also have a Pro Bike Wash, which is a jet wash with a proper bike carousel to cradle your pride and joy whilst you make it look like new again.
Our complimentary transfers don’t come with free carriage for your bikes. However if you’re staying in the Christy then we include a free carriage for your bike on our coach transfer, which normally is charged as an extra fee for guests in other chalets or hotels.
Our main workshops are equipped to solve most problems from disc brake alignments to changing bottom brackets, trashed wheels and minor frame alignments. We carry spare cassettes, pads, tyres and other essentials (subject to stock levels). Our mechanics’ advice is free, but their help on specific jobs will require an hourly rate.
