Self-Drive Ski Holidays

You can self drive to all our chalets and hotels; and driving to the Alps is not as far as you might think. It’s also a great way to experience France and see some sights enroute, avoid the airports and travel mask free with your friends. By using the Eurotunnel, you can get from your home to your ski accommodation without being in contact with a single person.

Why Self Drive?

  • Driving is cheaper than flying - Cost of Fly vs Drive
  • You can drive to the Alps in about 8 hours
  • Bring as much luggage as you like!
  • Free parking in resort
  • Travel at your own timetable
  • Get an extra day’s skiing in resort!
  • A car vs 4 flights will reduce your carbon footprint by 65%!

Greater flexibility & more time skiing!

Driving to the Alps is not as far as you might think; and avoiding the airports with the madness of changeover day is a more relaxing experience. And of course, you can bring as much luggage as you like!

We don’t think you really need a car in resort, but having one gives you greater flexibility and you can arrive and depart on your own timetable. You can even benefit from an extra day’s skiing with a well timed travel plan and a night in a hotel enroute.

TIPS ON DRIVING TO THE ALPS

Try a Private Chalet

We have a range of catered chalets which can be booked privately for groups of 6 to 16 persons.

Our beautiful range of chalets come fully equipped for your week away, with a chalet host to cook and clean (following our rigorous new Covid-catering policies) and an Alpine Elements Rep to help you with ski extras and lessons

Driving to the Alps

Driving through France is a comfortable journey with lots to see and do along the way. It’s not a difficult drive - about 8 hours on the French side - and easy on young travellers with touristy sights and stops along the way.

Continental motorways are fast and traffic free. Fuel is well priced and there’s plenty of service stations with rest areas and play parks for kids to blow off some steam. The tolls are about €60 in total, but if you aren’t in a rush then take the N-roads - this way you’ll avoid the tolls and see some stunning countryside.

Once in resort, all our properties have ample parking onsite, or very close by and are generally free of charge, or very low cost.
