Learn MoreLac Montriond, a 1.3 km lake near Morzine, is a stunning spot — so much so that we include a paddleboarding or kayaking session in our Active Packs to encourage you to visit! The lake is easy to reach on foot or by bike, or take the free shuttle from Morzine centre. For a touch of adventure, you can hike or bike over the mountain using the lifts and follow gentle trails down to the lake. Kids aged 6+ can even ride a bike, and taking the chairlifts with a bike is great fun.
The lake is perfect for a full day of activity: walking, sunbathing, paddlesports, or letting the kids play while you relax in the natural swimming area. There are three charming lakeside restaurants and a few cafés — some of our favourites — plus a scenic path for walking, biking, or jogging. For extra adventure, take a one-hour walk up to the village of goats, a quaint alpine settlement complete with goats, ice cream, coffee, and gift shops.
A stunning focal point of this family-friendly resort, easily reached from Hotel Christiania or via the Pleney gondola from Morzine, using your free lift pass. About an hour’s walk at altitude, with breathtaking views all the way.
The lake is perfect for swimming and relaxing, with a café, sunbathing beaches, and grassy banks ideal for picnics. Families will love the kids’ fun-and-games area, featuring a thrilling assault course, a lake slide and the centrepiece — the WiBit inflatable obstacle course, a favourite with both kids and adults.
This small, bucolic lake is a peaceful escape from the crowds, surrounded by mountain pastures and coniferous forests. It’s perfect for a gentle walk or cycle, or as the starting point for scenic hikes to the Swiss border. A small café is on site for refreshments.
Located at the bottom of the Manche Valley, the lake is about 15 minutes from Morzine by free resort shuttle, or accessible on foot or by bike via our Lac Mine d’Or Route Card. Once there, enjoy a stroll around the lake, a hike to Col de Cou, or simply relax and soak up the calm, natural surroundings.
There are several stunning lakes to explore in Tignes and Val d’Isère, easily accessible on foot or by bike. The main lake in Tignes Le Lac is a spectacular centrepiece, offering a variety of water sports and games, many included on the MyTignes pass in our Active Packs.
You can try kayaking, paddleboarding, or pedalo, and enjoy other lakeside activities. Teens and adults will love Acroland, with adrenaline-filled fun like the giant waterslide. For something more sedate, why not try fly fishing with an instructor.
This beautiful lake sits right in front of Hotel Tetras Lodge, offering scenic bike rides and walks. The trail around the lake is perfect for a cycle on our bikes or a morning jog, with peaceful shores and plenty of wildlife to spot. A restaurant nearby provides refreshments, but our hotel remains one of the few buildings on its tranquil shoreline.

Take the Palafour chairlift from Tignes centre (using your free lift pass) and stroll down to Lac Chardonnet at 2334m. It’s a beautiful high alpine lake and once there, you can try fly fishing (which our Mountain Team can help you organise beforehand) or just pit-stop for a picnic with a view. If you are looking for an energising walk, then instead of taking the chairlift simply walk up the mountain path, following our Route Card. It’ll take just over an hour and is not too strenuous.
