A great way to break the ice with other Alpine Elements guests!
One of the must-do activities in France is the famous Whitewater rafting in the Isere valley which is why it’s free-and-inclusive with all our holidays to Hotel Tetras Lodge. Choose from a Discovery ride or the Great Descent (available as an Add On Activity) for adults and teens’ who like a faster ride! Whichever descent you choose, nothing will bond you more with your fellow hotel guests like heading down a river at high speed on a rubber raft!

Included within our Free Active Pack, this epic rafting adventure takes place on grade 2 and 3 rapids, which is in some of France’s finest whitewater. You will start with practical swim techniques in the river (which means getting in for a plunge!) before paddle techniques, how to sit in the raft and safety. It’s a fun and educational adventure that will need teamwork as you forge new friendships with other Alpine Elements guests. The Discovery Descent offers the best balance between exciting and rewarding, without being too demanding. Ages 8+. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
This is a full descent of the Isere rapids, taking in more challenging sections including grade 4 rapids. This is a fun activity, led by a very experienced guide and lasts for just over 1Hr 30mins - which is plenty long enough! It has a river swimming section in the rapids - which are super fun and calm sections to get the breath back… Open to kids age 12-13+ accompanied by an adult. Any descent of the Isere rapids is very famous, incredibly scenic and a must-do activity.
Upgrades to the Great Descent can be done in resort and may be dependent on participant numbers. Speak to your Active rep on arrival.
You will be supplied with wetsuits, helmets, buoyancy aids and paddles when you arrive. The centre is in a beautiful setting, within the trees of the river bank and has a nice sun-deck and snack bar with coffee and ice creams; and a licensed bar (for a cold beer after the event!). After your descent you will be picked up by the centre minibus and taken back to change, before we transfer you back to the hotel. Allow just over half a day for the activity.
The centre is based in a beautiful spot in Landry, about a 35-40min scenic drive down the valley from our hotel in Tignes Les Brévières. We will provide transport to and from the hotel and rafting base by private coach or minibus and it is all included in the price.
