Take a look at all the lakes and their activities
LAKE ACTIVITIESYou can choose to Kayaking rather than SUP as your free activity!
KAYAKINGMany people can’t explain why they get so addicted to Paddleboarding. For some, it’s the ‘feel good’ factor of a core workout, for others it is the feeling of peace they get from this ‘soulful art of walking on water’. This is why we include a session for free in our Active Packs for all resorts.
Paddleboarding makes for a great day out when combined with one of our Route Card Itineraries, during which you might try a bike ride or a walk to the lake, or perhaps some wild swimming as well - to spice the day up a bit!
You can either start off with a cycle up to the lake, or take the free bus. It’s about 3.5 miles from Morzine centre and a great way to start the adventure is to cycle along the mountain roads that lead up to the lake.
Your on-the-water session lasts for about an hour, which is more than enough time to explore the lake and have a great session on a SUP or kayak. We recommend arriving 10 mins before your allocated slot (which our Active staff will give to you) so you can meet our Active Reps at the activity centre and familiarise yourself with the lake and the equipment.
Once your session starts, you will be allocated a high quality inflatable paddle board and fitted to a paddle. The centre staff will help you get started so even complete beginners can ‘give it a go’ in the secure and calm waters of the lake.
If you would like to extend your session then you can do this locally for only €10 as a special concessionary rate paid directly to the supplier.
Grab a bike from our hotel and cycle down to the lake, it's only 5 or 10 mins away from the hotel. Present your MyTignes multipass (that comes with your Active Pack) at the watersports centre and you will be kitted out in a wetsuit and armed with a paddleboard. You will start out from the beach by the lake. It is very calm and pleasant. Each session lasts for about 30 mins which is the perfect time to enjoy the tranquillity of the lake in Tignes’ famous sunshine. More sessions can be purchased locally from about £12.
SUP has derived from an ancient form of surfing with Hawaiian heritage and, as the fastest growing sport worldwide it benefits participants with a strong ‘core’ workout, and the ability to glide around and explore the bay. Everyone loves the experience, which is why we include it for free!
Lac Montriond is an easy 30 to 40 min bike ride from Morzine (10-15 mins by free resort bus). You can cycle directly there, or, for a more interesting and lengthy excursion - you can cycle or walk there using the lifts and trails following our Fantasticable Route Card for a great day out (ages 6+). It is a real little adventure as you travel over the mountains to get there. Ask our Reps for the Route Card on arrival
Once at the lake, the watersports centre is at the ‘Morzine end’ of the lake, by the tourist centre and is very visible on arrival. The lake has a couple of restaurants and a nice walking track all around, with a swimming lake and other family activities.
The lake is not far from our hotel and the watersports centre is an easy 10 min cycle ride (25 min walk). Once at the lake, use the cycle/walking path that circles the lake and leads to the watersports centre at the far end. Or, hop on the free resort bus which will take you to Le Lac in moments. The watersports centre hosts many other lake activities, and there are restaurants and beautiful walks everywhere. The lakeside also has lots of family entertainments like obstacle parks, full size trampolines etc which are dotted around the lake, for a great day out.
