Hiring a guide for a half or full day is a great way to experience the wider terrain or for beginners to try out the lifts for the first time. Your guide will give you riding tips and show you trails to suit your ability. Our Active Team will help connect you with other likeminded guests so you can share the cost of a professional guide. Group sizes range from 4 to 10 riders.
We also offer complimentary social biking groups each week so that guests and families can meet up and ride together (often with our own bike host) to ride along the valley floor trails or along the river. A great way to meet our other guests.
During the week our Active Team will organise a group bike ride along the valley floor which is designed as a social ride and an introduction to the trails which run through the woods and along the river. It’s a ride for everyone to join in with, very casual and great for families. Families will also enjoy taking part in the games and activities that feature along the bank of the river.
Our Active Team will connect guests that want to ride together in our social biking groups. Just sign up at our hotel reception (chalet guests can join in) and we’ll endeavor to link you with others of a similar taste and ability to ride with. It’s also a great way to meet our other Alpine Elements guests.
We recommend that groups follow one of our suggested itineraries and that you start out from one of our Hotels. Of course, chalet guests can join in as well and it’s simply a service to connect our guests wishing to ride in the company of others. Please ask our Active Team on arrival and whilst we don't offer any promises, we will endeavor to match you with a group of like minded guests who will compliment your abilities.
Making use of a professional guide offers a fantastic opportunity to discover the area and its hidden gems; or for beginners to get a valuable introduction to the lifts and more advanced trail riding.
Guides can be booked in half or full day sessions and the guides that we use are at the top of their game. They know where the best trails are and will take your safety as a priority. They are always keen to impart tips and technique and are very sociable and nice to be around. They can give you tips on riding downhill courses (tackling banks and berms) and generally how to cope with the terrain. The more you ask, the more you’ll learn!
We often arrange guided rides for a variety of guests: whether you are a beginner looking for an introduction to trail riding and using the lifts; or you’re a cross country rider looking to cover some mileage and see some incredible sights. We also organise groups for freeriders and downhillers looking for an introduction to the area; or for guests that just want to be pushed and have a proper blast!
You will need a daily lift pass (from €20) and we’d recommend renting a full suspension bike to make the most of the terrain. We often connect guests together so they can share the cost of a guide which is typically from €250 a day. Groups often range from 4 to 10 persons.
If you are interested in booking a social biking excursion or a professionally guided ride in Morzine and Les Gets, our Active Team can organise this for you when you arrive. It is popular for guests to share the cost of a professionally guided ride, so we can register your interest on arrival and create a list of fellow riders.
If you want to make the most of the mountain biking in resort (using the lifts) and you wish to take part in a guided ride, then we would recommend you rent a full suspension bike for the day, such as the Specialized Enduro Evo or Nukeproof, which we offer using our local (recommended) suppliers. We recommend booking in advance as availability can be limited.
Our guides are expert and semi-professional, certified mountain bike coaches and/or mountain guides. They love their sport, and they like to share their knowledge and impart their technical skill base to any of our guests, especially if you make it known to them that you would like to learn more.
Riding the Alps with a guide is a great way to discover the best terrain and ride in a sociable group. We always recommended beginners try a guide if they are new to trail riding and using the lift system. Your guide will introduce you to the secret spots that only a local knows and fast-track you to the best riding for your ability. Guaranteed smiles all round!
You are of course welcome to explore the local terrain by yourself and most guests will do this. We simply ask that you ride with at least one other person and inform our Active Team (or hotel reception) of your intended route and ETA. We supply Route Cards with itinerary suggestions and maps at our chalets and hotel receptions.
