Guided Mountain Biking

Get the most out of the Alps with our specially selected mountain bike guides. These professional mountain guides are also bike instructors and they have a 'locals-only' knowledge of trails that will have you grinning from ear to ear, whatever your level! You never know, you may even learn a thing or two at the same time…

About Our Guided Rides

Our organised guiding sessions are for intermediate to advanced riders, but beginners can take private lessons (more below). They are run by professional guides and instructors and for a small local fee (from €20pp depending on group size) they’ll have you pumped in no time!

Guided rides are a great way to hook up with other riders and see the REAL mountain terrain otherwise hidden from public trail maps. They’re sociable too; and we can offer rides for all abilities and will help you get started in the resort and used to the lift system. Sessions run from half day to a full day Portes du Soleil tour.

If you’re a beginner then try a private lesson or a private guided ride from £180 per half day and £350 for a full day. Max 1-8 participants.

Guiding Groups

Group sessions will run all week in half day slots (3-4 hours) for 8-12 riders a time. It is recommended that you are comfortable riding dirt trails on a hard tail bike before taking part in a group-guided ride. Some groups may have mixed abilities of rider but we’ll do our best to accommodate differing levels where we can.

  • Half day or full day tours
  • Professional mountain guides
  • Groups of 8-12
  • A variety of abilities, intermediate and up
  • Ideal bike: full suspension (rent one from £45/day)
  • To take part: Intermediate trail rider
  • For beginners: try a private lesson from £180 for 1-8 pers

The Ideal Bike Upgrade!

If you are intent on making the most of our mountain bike programme and/or are an Intermediate level rider joining a guided ride from group level 2 or 3, then we would recommend you rent one of our full suspension Pro bikes for the day, such as the Specialized Enduro Evo or Camber.

We are offering an early booking (guest only) discount of up to 20% off our standard bike hire prices. Your bike will be maintained all week by our mechanics, wear tear parts included, see terms. Not available for half day hire.

Liftpasses

In Morzine and Les Gets you’ll need a lift pass and these are from €5.00 extra per uplift or €110 per week. In Tignes and Val’disere, lift passes are free with our Active Packs.

The Ideal Bike

If you want to make the most of the mountain biking in resort and guided rides then we would recommend you rent a full suspension bike for the day, such as the all-new 2018 Specialized Enduro Evo which we offer. We also offer guest special prices for pre-bookings made before departure.

Definitely the cheapest and best hire bikes in resort! Your bike will be maintained all week by our mechanics, wear tear parts included, see terms. Not available for half day hire.

Improve Your Riding Skills

The guides we use are all expert and semi-professional or certified riders, all of whom will impart their technical skills and knowledge onto any of our guests, especially if you make it known to them that you would like to learn more. Riding the Alps with a guide is crucial if you would like to gain a true insight into the real potential of any resort, benefit from a local knowledge and substantially improve your riding.

If you choose to ride without a guide then you may miss out on so much of the best bike terrain that is hidden from public maps. Your guide will introduce you to all the hidden secret spots that only a local knows, and fast-track you to the best riding for your ability.

Independent Riding

You are always welcome to go and explore the local terrain yourself, but we would always advise that you ride with at least one other person and inform our staff of your intended route and ETA. Using a guide for at least your first half-day riding is a great way to learn about mountain safety and the lifts. We would always recommend this.
