Guided Mountain Biking

Making use of a professional bike guide for a half or full day is a great way for experts to experience the wider terrain or for beginners to try the lifts for the first time. Your guide will show you the best trails and give you riding tips to help you tackle the terrain. Our Active Team can help you book a guide and even connect you with other Alpine Elements guests if you’d like to share the cost.

Guided Rides (professional guides)

  • Hire a pro guide for a day
  • Join a Social Biking group with like minded guests
  • Rent a full suspension bike to get the most of the terrain
  • Hire one of our E-Bikes

Making use of a professional bike guide will give you a fantastic opportunity to discover the area and its hidden gems; or for beginners to get a valuable introduction to the lifts and more advanced trail riding. We can hook you up with our recommended professional guides for a half or full day session. We can organise a private guide for your group or you can join a group with other guests to share the cost.

Simply ask our Active Team (or reception) on arrival and they will organise a guide and maybe find some like minded guests to share a ride with.

Guides can be booked in half day or full day sessions and the guides that we use are at the top of their game. They know the best trails and will take your safety as a priority. They are always keen to impart tips and technique and are very sociable to ride with. They can give you tips on riding downhill courses (tackling banks and berms) and generally how to cope with the terrain.  Group sizes range from 4 to 12 riders. Intermediate guiding groups will need a good quality Pro Bike (a full-sus bike) and a lift pass for one or more uplifts.

Why book a Guided Ride?

A guided ride is great for all levels: for beginners looking for an introduction to trail riding, a confidence boost and using the lifts… cross country riders looking to discover miles of new terrain and see some great sights… or DH riders looking to up their game and learn some new tips from a seasoned rider.

You will need a daily lift pass (from €20) and we’d recommend renting a full suspension bike to make the most of the terrain. We often connect guests together so they can share the cost of a guide which is typically from €250 a day. Groups often range from 4 to 12 persons.

Social Biking Groups

Our Active Team will also connect guests that want to ride together in a social group. Just sign up at our hotel reception (chalet guests can join in) and we’ll endeavor to link you with others of a similar taste and ability to ride with. It’s also a great way to meet our other Alpine Elements guests .

We recommend groups follow one of our suggested itineraries and that you start out from one of our Hotels. Of course, chalet guests can join in as well and it’s simply a service to connect our guests wishing to ride in the company of others. Please ask our Active Team on arrival and whilst we don't offer any promises, we will endeavor to match you with a group of like minded guests.

Our Inclusive Bike Hire

The ideal bike

If you want to make the most of the mountain biking (using the lifts) and you wish to take part in a guided ride, (intermediate and up), then we would recommend you rent a full suspension bike using our local (recommended) suppliers. We recommend booking in advance as availability can be limited.

Improve your riding skills

Our guides are expert and semi-professional, certified mountain bike coaches and/or mountain guides. They love their sport, and they like to share their knowledge and impart their technical skill base to any of our guests, especially if you make it known to them that you would like to learn more.

Riding the Alps with a guide is a great way to discover the best terrain and ride in a sociable group. We always recommended beginners try a guide if they are new to trail riding and using the lift system. Your guide will introduce you to the secret spots that only a local knows and fast-track you to the best riding for your ability. Guaranteed smiles all round!

Independent Riding

You are of course welcome to explore the local terrain by yourself and most guests will do this. We simply ask that you ride with at least one other person and inform our Active Team (or hotel reception) of your intended route and ETA. We supply Route Cards with itinerary suggestions and maps at our chalets and hotel receptions.
