Making use of a professional bike guide for a half or full day is a great way for experts to experience the wider terrain or for beginners to try the lifts for the first time. Your guide will show you the best trails and give you riding tips to help you tackle the terrain. Our Active Team can help you book a guide and even connect you with other Alpine Elements guests if you’d like to share the cost.
We also organise Social bike rides each week where we endeavour to connect like minded guests who want to ride together or share the cost of a mountain guide.
Our Active Team will also connect guests that want to ride together in a social biking groups. Just sign up at our hotel reception (chalet guests can join in) and we’ll endeavor to link you with others of a similar taste and ability to ride with. It’s also a great way to meet our other Alpine Elements guests .
We recommend groups follow one of our suggested itineraries and that you start out from one of our Hotels. Of course, chalet guests can join in as well and it’s simply a service to connect our guests wishing to ride in the company of others. Please ask our Active Team on arrival and whilst we don't offer any promises, we will endeavor to match you with a group of like minded guests.
Making use of a professional bike guide will give you a fantastic opportunity to discover the area and its hidden gems; or for beginners to get a valuable introduction to the lifts and more advanced trail riding.
Guides can be booked in half or full day sessions and the guides that we use are at the top of their game. They know the best trails and will take your safety as a priority. They are always keen to impart tips and technique and are very sociable to ride with. They can give you tips on riding downhill courses (tackling banks and berms) and generally how to cope with the terrain. Group sizes range from 4 to 10 riders.
We often get groups of guests together to share the cost of a guide, ask our Active Team or hotel reception on arrival.
We often arrange guided rides for a variety of guests: whether you are a beginner looking for an introduction to trail riding and using the lifts; or you’re a cross country rider looking to cover some mileage and see some incredible sights. We also organise groups for freeriders and downhillers looking for an introduction to the area; or for guests that just want to be pushed and have a proper blast!
You will need a daily lift pass (from €20) and we’d recommend renting a full suspension bike to make the most of the terrain. We often connect guests together so they can share the cost of a guide which is typically from €250 a day. Groups often range from 4 to 10 persons.
If you are interested in booking a social biking excursion or a professionally guided ride in Morzine and Les Gets, our Active Team can organise this for you when you arrive. It is popular for guests to share the cost of a professionally guided ride, so we can register your interest on arrival and create a list of fellow riders.
If you want to make the most of the mountain biking in resort (using the lifts) and you wish to take part in a guided ride, then we would recommend you rent a full suspension bike for the day, such as the Specialized Enduro Evo or Nukeproof, which we offer using our local (recommended) suppliers. We recommend booking in advance as availability can be limited.
Our guides are expert and semi-professional, certified mountain bike coaches and/or mountain guides. They love their sport, and they like to share their knowledge and impart their technical skill base to any of our guests, especially if you make it known to them that you would like to learn more.
Riding the Alps with a guide is a great way to discover the best terrain and ride in a sociable group. We always recommended beginners try a guide if they are new to trail riding and using the lift system. Your guide will introduce you to the secret spots that only a local knows and fast-track you to the best riding for your ability. Guaranteed smiles all round!
You are of course welcome to explore the local terrain by yourself and most guests will do this. We simply ask that you ride with at least one other person and inform our Active Team (or hotel reception) of your intended route and ETA. We supply Route Cards with itinerary suggestions and maps at our chalets and hotel receptions.
