Morzine

Morzine is in the heart of the Portes du Soleil and one of the prettiest mountain towns in the Alps. It buzzes with life and oozes charm and alpine-chic from its quaint chalet-style architecture. There’s a plethora of bars, cafes, cultural sites and shopping for a truly all-round alpine break.

If you love being active and love the outdoors then you’ll feel right at home in Morzine, whether you’re an active family or an adrenaline enthusiast. Morzine has a myriad of fun activities in its mountains, forests and lakes that’ll make you wish you had two weeks to discover its full potential.

Being situated on the French-Swiss border it’s a very diverse, very vast and very scenic outdoor playground which enjoys a hot and sunny climate and the largest network of lifts in the Alps serving hundreds of miles of biking and walking trails on the same lift pass.

With more than 50 activities on offer, Morzine is a popular destination for all tastes. Our holidays come with more than enough free activities for your week away; like whitewater rafting, mountain biking, and access to the excellent Aquatic centre.

Our free Active Packs will keep you busy enough, but if you’ve got any spare time the area is renowned for its Via Ferrata, Canyoning, Parapenting and horse riding.

Mountain & Road Biking

The Alps are famous for their mountain biking and Morzine is the number one bike destination in Europe! You’ll have access to more than 850 km of trails, with family trails at altitude (using the lifts) so you’ll never be stuck on the valley floor. And with 25 lifts open for bikers (and walkers) they cover almost all the Portes du Soleil on the same lift pass, so you’ll never have to spend time pushing your bike uphill, when you could be flying down the other way!

Morzine is also a mecca for road bikers and regularly hosts a stage of the Tour de France, so expect many great facilities and road-rides for all levels of fitness, not just the expert hill climbers.

Come and sample some of the best and most extensive bike terrain in Europe: from awe inspiring Cross Country routes and dedicated E-bike trails through forests and along high mountain paths; to the bike parks and Downhill courses with their banks, berms, jumps and drops.

Families and beginners

If you’re a beginner or family, then fear not - Morzine has got you covered! It’s the perfect place to learn to ride high mountain trails and you can experience the thrill of taking a gondola to the top and riding downhill all the way, choosing the easy-graded trails.

MORE ABOUT FAMILY BIKING >

Child & Family

Morzine is a great spot for the family who wants to explore the mountains in summer with lots of family activities and biking for families. It has a great family vibe and plenty of (not-so-active) cultural things to do for families. Only an hour from the airport also means no lengthy, excitement-sapping transfers!

The Alps are made for families to share activities together, but when parents need a breather our Active Kids Club offer free half-day sessions - which is just enough time to give you some well-earned time to unwind while the young ones can make new friends and tire themselves out trying fun activities. They are run by our Active Club Leaders and for 4-12 year olds.
