About Les Gets

Linked to neighbouring sister resort Morzine, Les Gets is part of the beautiful Portes du Soleil region, which means ‘Gateway to the Sun’. It has a lovely lake near to our hotel (for swimming, sunbathing and kids activities) and a vast array of walking and biking trails (1000 Km’s) served by 25 lifts which span the Franco-Swiss border.

You could spend weeks exploring this alpine wonderland and discovering new and exciting trails and activities every day. Les Gets has a slightly quieter atmosphere to Morzine, but enjoys access to all the same activities. It has a great family vibe and lots of cultural (not-so-active) things to do for families. Also expect plenty of bars, cafes and shops on a par with Morzine.

Great Things To Try

Where is it?

Les Gets is just an hour from Geneva airport in the northern French Alps. It’s part of the beautiful Portes du Soleil region, a vast mountain playground linked by 25 lifts for bikers and walkers that covers no less than twelve alpine villages and doubles as one of THE premier European ski destinations in winter. Les Gets enjoys a southern, sunny location about 8 hours’ drive south-east of Calais and 6 hours south of Paris

  • Self drives: 7-8 hours from Calais
  • Fly to Geneva (Gatwick, Luton, Edinburgh, Bristol, Liverpool)
  • Flight time: 1hr 20mins; Transfer 1hr+

The Activities

With more than 50 activities on offer, Les Gets is a popular destination with lots going on to keep you busy when you’re not on the mountain. Our holidays come with more than enough free activities for your week away; like Whitewater rafting, mountain biking, Kayak/SUP or the WiBit obstacle course and the excellent ‘Cascades’ Adventure Park to name a few. We even throw in a complimentary guided walk with a professional guide

Our free Active Packs will keep you busy enough, but if you’ve got any spare time the area is also renowned for its Via Ferrata, Canyoning, Parapenting and horse riding.

Mountain & Road Biking

Les Gets is one of the most famous bike destinations in Europe. It has trails for experts and trails for beginners and family riders. As part of the legendary Portes du Soleil, it has access to the largest network of lifts in the Alps which span over into Switzerland. It means that whatever your ability (and daredevil streak!) you’ll find something to suit you - from easy-cruising Greens and family trails to Blue, Red and more extreme Black-graded downhill runs like the Avalanche Cup competition trails.

The area is also a mecca for road bikers and regularly hosts a stage of the Tour de France, and you can expect many great rides if you’re a staunch ‘Roadie’. So come and sample some of the best and most extensive biking in Europe: from awe-inspiring cross country routes to bike parks and downhill courses with their banks, berms, jumps and drops.

Child & Family

Les Gets is the perfect family destination. It’s totally geared for alpine addicts, both young and old and not only enjoys a short transfer from Geneva airport (about an hour), but also has a vast array of activities for kids and families, so everyone’s happy!

Kids love our all-inclusive Active Clubs which run free of charge for ages 4 to 12 and designed to give kids new experiences. We know the art of keeping little ones (and not-so-little-ones) thoroughly entertained while you grab some well-earned time to yourselves.
