Tignes

Tignes is in the heart of the Vanoise National Park: a stunning alpine area that teems with wildlife and some incredible biking and walking, with more than 300 Kms of tracks and trails and a free lift pass (for bikers & walkers!). It has a hot and sunny climate with 300+ days’ sunshine a year and more activities on offer than any other alpine resort: from summer skiing on its glacier to classic mountain activities like climbing and via ferrata. If you’re an active family, biker, walker or adrenaline seeker - you’ll like it here!

Set around a beautiful mountain lake, Tignes really makes the most of it with lots of weird and wonderful water-based activities, from giant water slides… to zorbing on water… to classic activities like paddle boarding and kayaking… and even fly fishing... In Tignes, there’s so much to choose from - it’s often hard to decide what to do next!

“With so much on offer in Tignes, the hardest part is choosing what to do!”

The Activities

Tignes is a bit of a gem! Sporty types will love the sheer amount of activities on offer: from lake sports… to mountain biking… walking… and summer skiing on Europe’s highest glacier.

Tignes’ large lake is an impressive centre-point to the resort and great for water sports and the slightly wacky activities it offers. Enjoy nice cafes, sunbathing spots and kids activities which run along its shoreline. Some resort based activities are included for free with our Tourist Office Multipass.

Mountain Biking

Tignes is basically heaven for the biker in you. There’s a whole heap of terrain to explore - from cross country to freeride trails and bike parks with jumps and berms and terrain for beginner riders too. You’ll even get a free bikers’ lift pass to explore the trails (all 300 km of them) which stretch over into Val d’Isere. There’s more than enough terrain to keep you busy all week and the area is simply stunning.

Expect some fantastic beginner and family rides around the lake and valley floor. Once your confidence builds, why not rent a full suspension bike for the day and try some intermediate trails using your free lift pass.
