Family Mountain biking

Biking in the Alps is not just for adults and more confident riders! Each resort offers family trails and valley floor biking. There’s also pump tracks and obstacle courses for learners and children to get to know their bikes and understand basic skills.

Dads love the facilities on offer and the warm weather which encourages young riders to learn quickly - and everyone loves riding up the ski lifts.

The best bit however, is that the bike hire is inclusive with our holidays so you don't have two think about bringing your own… We only use high-quality bikes from Specialized for adults and kids - maintained all week by mechanics to keep them rolling nicely.

Bike Skills Clinic

Being offered in our main hotels next summer - this is a very popular group activity run by our experienced Alpine Elements bike mechanics which is designed to teach you something interesting, practical and useful about bike servicing and maintenance.

We can tailor it for all experience levels, from first timers wishing to keep their own hardtail bike running smoothly to more expert riders looking for tips on maintaining advanced components.

Our Skills Clinics tend to run from our main hotels and last approx two hours. All guests will have a chance to join a Skills Clinic, but we do ask that (although they are free) you pre-book your interest on arrival with our Active Reps.

Workshops & Mechanics

Travelling to the Alps with a bike means that you’ll need a full repair facility on hand, otherwise the local shops will charge you a small fortune… We have fully equipped workshops or mobile workshops in all our resorts and dedicated Alpine Elements mechanics.

Our mechanics are on hand as a first aid post to bikes and to help you keep your bike rolling throughout your stay. Their advice is free, but their help on specific jobs will require an hourly rate, which is very reasonable.

We have full workshop facilities in Val D’Isere, Tignes, Les Gets and Morzine. These workshops are equipped to solve most problems from disc brake alignments to changing bottom brackets, trashed wheels and minor frame alignments. We carry spare cassettes, pads, tyres and other essentials (subject to stock levels).

Pump Tracks & DH courses

All our resorts have pump tracks or obstacle courses for bikers wanting to practice in a safe environment by pumping around banked corners, humps and flowing obstacles. Great for learning some new skills and good fun for kids too.

Try one of the many man-made Downhill courses which suit confident riders. Let your adrenaline surge as you swoop down banks and berms and humps following the flow of the Singletrack course down the mountain. Then get the lift back up and do it all over again! Experts will try the Red or Black trails, but do heed the signposts and pick the trail that suits your ability!
