La Plagne

France’s 4th largest ski area & a true all-rounder

Being dubbed by developers as the next ‘Val d'Isère’ La Plagne is part of the vast Paradiski (connected directly to Les Arcs) and provides an incredible high altitude playground with unrivalled variety for all levels. It comprises ten ski villages with snow-sure slopes from nursery to Black and it’s not only a mecca for experts and intermediates, but just as popular with families as the true all-rounder ski resort.

La Plagne and the Paradiski make France’s 4th largest ski area with 11 ski villages to choose from. Our chalets are located in Plagne Villages and 1800, which we consider to have the best mix of entertainment and exclusivity for our guests.

Visit Plagne 1800 or Belle Plagne for the prettiest ‘ski resort’ feel and the right amount of shops and bars to keep you entertained but not overwhelmed.

Visit Plagne Centre for nightlife and shops and a more high-rise feel.

Visit Plagne Villages to be right on the slopes in the highest location with a smaller selection of shops and bars - but a connection to Plagne Centre until midnight (via the Telebus lift) and still enough on the doorstep to make apres-ski fun!

  • 425kms of Ski Area
  • Highest Lift at 3250m
  • 147 Blue & Green Runs

  • 34 Black Runs
  • 2hrs 35mins transfer time

Beginner & Family Skiing, La Plagne

La Plagne is a playground for families and everyone else looking to progress confidently with their skiing and boarding. With a huge network of easy-cruising greens and blues it enables everyone to explore the full extent of the mountain without being confined to the lower slopes. From our chalets in Plagne 1800 and Plagne Villages, beginners will find many excellent slopes, perfectly suited to easy cruising - with wide, flat terrain and great quality snow.

English speaking instructors and excellent ski and board schools are standard issue in this very well facilitated resort, offering private or group lessons for children aged 4+ and beginner to experts. Lessons can be booked with our tried and tested suppliers and our sales team are on hand to help.

Intermediate and Advanced Skiing

La Plagne enjoys some of the best snow in Europe and glacier skiing at Plagne Bellecôte, which extends up to 3250 metres. From here you will find a seemingly endless supply of powder, and some of the longest descents in the Alps.

Extend your legs and cruise over to the neighbouring resort of Les Arcs, which is directly connected via the Vanoise Express cable car that spans the valley and gets there in just 4 minutes.

Our Chalets in La Plagne Villages are mostly ski to door or very close to the pistes and their high altitude location gives you Route One access to the best slopes (especially on a powder day) so you can fast track to the best of it!

Snowboarding & Freeride Skiing, La Plagne

Snowboarders will have a ball in La Plagne! All levels will love the easy cruising greens and blues or the fast reds that descend from the glacier. You’ll enjoy the widest array of easy-to-access powder descents of the ‘not-too-steep’ variety that we’ve seen in France, especially if you stay up at Plagne Villages for direct access to the high slopes on a powder day!

Always take precautions when riding off piste, but rest assured that La Plagne has some very accessible off piste and gets a lot of great snow - especially on the high slopes around Plagne Villages.

Expert riders will love the long powder descents from the summit of the Bellecôte Glacier with so much natural terrain - from rollovers to natural half pipes and long sweeping runs.

La Plagne is perfect for all levels and the snow park is not too intimidating and full of small, medium and large jumps and rails to try.

About La Plagne

The snow sure nature of La Plagne is helped by the glacier skiing at Plagne Bellecôte, which extends up to 3250 metres. From here you will find an up to 2000m vertical drop, with some Black and Red slopes together with a seemingly endless supply of powder, and some of the longest descents in France.

Our Chalets in La Plagne are mostly ski to door or very close to the slopes. They are also just a short, easy ski to the ski school meeting points - so convenient skiing is definitely something which you can look forward too.

Around La Plagne

La Plagne Centre (2000m) has fallen foul of the dreaded concrete touch but the huge amounts of snow seem to make it look fresh and pleasant all season round. As you would expect it is the largest of the Villages in La Plagne and is a Mecca for shops, bars and restaurants.

1800 has by and large escaped the planners concrete nightmares, with more of a chalet-style, and a warm and friendly atmosphere, with a handful of good bars and restaurants and some ski shops. Ski buses run up to Plagne centre until midnight, this all helps give skiers the perfect mix: lots of apres ski and very pleasant surroundings"
