Waterski / Wakeboard

The Alps may all be about the glorious mountains but they have beautiful lakes too! And of course, our centre at Lake Biscarosse in Bordeaux is MADE for water skiing! So, try your hand at wake boarding or skiing this summer and if you don’t fancy either – then plump for being towed on some Ringo’s instead... so much fun!

Water Ski & Wakeboard for Everyone

Clear, smooth lakes offer the perfect conditions for water ski and wake board fun and our mountain lakes (Alps) and lakeside destinations (Bordeaux) offer just that! And the best bit is that this activity is open to all levels - so it’s not as hard as you think! Boats have tow bars to make learning easier, and ski-tows (Lake Praz in La Tania) offer a similarly easy solution to learning.

Most beginners (children included) can be up and skiing or boarding using the pole in their first session. Learning is a lot of fun, especially with a group of four sharing the experience. And a great spectator sport as the boat tours around the lake

The only resort not to offer this activity is Tignes and Val D’isere. But they make up for it in other ways!

Morzine and Les Gets

Lake Geneva is one of the largest inland lakes in Europe and only 40 mins drive (or so) from our hotels and chalets. Our reps can organise this activity locally and with transfers the cost is about €50 to €70pp.

The wake board and ski school will teach absolute beginners or take intermediates/experts out in their boat which comes with a driver / instructor. This is a good half day activity and each person will get around three rides each for about 10mins per ride which is more than enough to leave you feeling exhausted! It’s a great activity for spectators too as the boat ride, experience and views of the lake itself are stunning.

Tignes and Val D’isere

There’s no facility at present for Tignes and Val’, but at least this is made up by the fact that the Sportignes Activity pass (free with our Active Packs) has so many other free and inclusive lake activities on it!

Lake Biscarosse

Lake Sanguinet (Biscarosse) offers idyllic conditions for water skiing and wake boarding, or even Ringo’s. The early morning glassy calm conditions are ideal and the lake often stays smooth and skiable until after midday. At this time the Ringo’s generally come out!

The water ski boat is a ‘proper’ Mastercraft type of ski boat with roll bar for skiing and a ‘parallel bar’ for learning. It also runs right from the campsite beach, moment from our mobile homes, so it couldn’t be simpler.

La Tania-Courchevel and Méribel

The lake at nearby La Praz has a permanent ski-tow set up, and called the “Courchevel Wake Park”. It’s moments from our Courchevel-La Tania hotel (10 mins by bike) and a great 1-2 hour bike ride from Meribel (using the lifts). The lake is open all summer for families and experts alike. It’s even got jumps and obstacles, but most important are the glassy conditions from dawn ‘til dusk! (Opening times are generally 11am to 8pm.).
