Travelling on a Wednesday

Benefits with travelling on a Wednesday

PictureFor an easier time travelling! Arriving on a Wednesday means avoiding the busy weekend traffic and inevitable delays of peak season! Our planes depart early which means you will be in resort around lunch time and in most cases with the afternoon free to get in an extra half day's skiing!

PictureFor an extra half day skiing: Wednesday arrivals will more than likely be able to ski after lunch* so a bonus afternoon on the mountain! Our reps will help you get your extra half day pass (best bought locally) and fast track any afternoon skiers through ski hire fitting. *Arrivals around lunchtime will occur under normal travel conditions.

PictureEnjoy a proper snowy build up to Christmas, rather than arriving on the day before Christmas eve. Plenty of time to get the kids excited and the family into a festive spirit.

PictureEnjoy crowd-free slopes for the first 3 or 4 days of your holiday. You will be starting your holiday slightly earlier than the masses and on the Dec 23rd and 24th (as most Tour Operators are changing over guests) you will have crowd-free slopes!

PictureThe pick of the best equipment: Arriving in resort a couple of days earlier than the bulk of the Christmas travellers will also give you a pick of the best skis and boards in the hire shops!

Christmas SkiingOur Christmas Day

Christmas Day starts on Christmas Eve in a festively decorated chalet with Mulled Wine and Yuletide Log for afternoon tea. In the evening the kids can put out mince pies and Carrots for Santa.

On Christmas Day wake up to Bucks Fizz at breakfast along with a cooked breakfast and a continental buffet.

After a festive day on the slopes come home to a crackling log fire, a well laid table and your host serving an afternoon tea of Vin Chaud and Mince Pies.

To start the festive feast bubbly is served before pre-dinner canapés.
You can pop your crackers then tuck into a take on a festive classic; a starter of Smoked Salmon Cocktail.

Shortly afterward the mains will be served. This is a turkey roast with all of the trimmings and flowing wine; vegetarian options are available.

No Christmas day meal would be complete without a Christmas pudding. We serve ours with brandy butter and pouring cream.

Then relax, sit back and cosy up in front of the fire with an after dinner chocolate and freshly brewed tea or coffee! If you are in a premium plus property then a cheese board will be provided.

winter wonderland at ChristmasChristmas Skiing

Christmas is always a festive celebration in any ski resort! A celebration enhanced by fresh falls of snow, warming log fires, firework displays and delicious servings of Vin Chaud! Our catered chalets and hotels are decorated with festive cheer, and a special festive menu is served for Christmas and New Year!

Our Catered Ski Chalets are decorated with festive cheer, and a feast is served for Christmas and New Year! They provide a magical environment for families, friends and children to feel truly involved in the spirit of Christmas.

Skiing at New Year and Christmas has always been the ideal time for a ski holiday. Why sit at home dreaming of a white Christmas when you can take a short flight and experience one for real instead? Why toil for hours over Christmas dinner only to have your 5-year-old complain they don’t like sprouts/stuffing/turkey, when you can fly away to your dream alpine destination and allow someone else to worry about cooking times and children’s fads?

A ski chalet holiday at Christmas time is the stuff of dreams. Snow falling gently outside the chocolate box chalet, perhaps a log fire or a champagne toast and canapes before dinner…presents under the Christmas tree (the one you didn’t have to buy and won’t have to lug to the recycling depot next week)…and, of course, powder snow and acres of excellent skiing.

It is advisable to go for a more snow-sure resorts, such as Tignes, Val D’Isere, or Les Arcs 2000, where the slopes will be nicely covered by mid December.

Christmas ski holidays certainly provide a lot to do both on and off the piste. Most resorts have a lot of events going on over the festive period: you can watch a torchlit descent or a children’s lantern procession on Christmas eve and enjoy fantastic firework displays to bring in the New Year.

Our Service at Christmas

Allow your chalet host to look after you with breakfast every day, afternoon tea cakes on your return from the slopes and a deliciously filling 3-course evening meal 6 nights a week. You’ll enjoy the privacy of your own room within the convivial atmosphere of a chalet full of like minded guests, and you’ll definitely have a Christmas to remember!

Please Note - The ski slopes and ski lifts are open as usual for the whole of Christmas and New Years day, so don't despair, skiing will not be reduced or restricted in any way over the festive period...See Ski All Inclusive
