About Hotel Le Ski d’Or

The Ski d’Or is a welcoming 4 star hotel run exclusively by us. It’s in one of Tignes’ finest locations: the heart of Val Claret. A snow-covered ski village in the thick of the action. You can ski in (and out) of the hotel, and it has a calm but central location for doorstep access to the bars and shops.

Enjoy breakfast with panoramic views of the slopes - from the hotel restaurant - and after a day’s skiing, head back to the comforts of our bar and lounge to enjoy the sensational views of the Grand Motte. After a cuppa’ tea and a slice of cake, (or something stronger!), why not head to the spa and go for a dip in our hot tub or recuperate yourself in the hotel sauna. Take it slow for a while. You’ve earned it.

Bedrooms...take your pick

The hotel has 27 en-suite bedrooms, beautifully presented in an Alpine-Chic style with luxurious carpets, mini-fridge, writing desk, sofa seating (in most rooms) and an ensuite bathroom, of course. Almost all the rooms enjoy sunny panoramic views of the mountains and views of the Grand Motte. We have a variety of twin, double and triple bedrooms with family quads and interconnecting rooms which are great for parents who want some privacy from their kids.

• 11 rooms: Double en-suite shower or bath, WC, Balcony
• 7 rooms: Twin en-suite shower or bath, WC, Balcony
• 5 rooms: Triple (3 singles) en-suite shower or bath, WC, Balcony
• 4 rooms: Family Quad (twin + single + pullout bed) en-suite shower or bath, WC, Balcony

Once you’ve fuelled up with a delicious, filling breakfast then you’re ready to go. Simply step outside the hotel and cross over to the slopes. Walk up to the Tuffs chairlift which is about 200 metres or a 2 minute walk away. After your day’s skiing then you can ski almost right back to the hotel door, unclip, and head indoors for a well earned drink or a cuppa’ tea.

The Ski d’Or is in the centre of Tignes Val Claret - doorstep to the ski slopes and amenities - and all the finest skiing and boarding is really close by. You’ll find a lively choice of apres ski, lots of ski shops and some great restaurants close to the hotel

Eat, drink and be skiing

We believe in eating well when you’re in the mountains. And a great day on the slopes starts with a very important meal each morning in our hotel restaurant. We serve a proper breakfast with hot options on most days, to make sure you’re set up for all the snow and adventure you can handle.

Nothing beats a freshly-baked cake and afternoon tea when you get back in from the slopes and in the evenings we’ll tease your taste buds with a delicious three-course a la carte menu. All this is served on six nights of your stay, leaving you free to explore the local restaurants on staff nights off.

  • Continental breakfast (7 days) with hot options (6 days)
  • Afternoon tea, coffee, hot chocolate with freshly baked cakes (6 days)
  • Bubbly reception on arrival night
  • Three course à la carte dinners (6 nights)
  • Bedroom welcome toiletries
  • Wine lists at guest-special prices
  • Explore the local restaurants for staff night off.
  • Special celebration menus at Christmas & New Year

About Tignes

Tignes is linked to neighbouring Val d’Isère to create a large ski area (formerly known as l'Espace Killy, after local Olympic champion Jean Claude Killy) with a wide range of skiing and boarding for all levels. Tignes has rightly earned itself a 'Super Resort' status among the plethora of European ski resorts. It is one of the best resorts in the Alps, with impeccably maintained pistes and is famous for its high altitude skiing and an excellent snow record. A status that most other resorts can only dream of.

The slopes in Tignes are characteristically wide and served by a range of high speed lifts. This allows for effortless skiing which appeals to all abilities, less slope congestion and not so much waiting in lift queues, even in peak season!
