About Hotel Le Ski d’Or

The Ski d’Or is a welcoming 4 star hotel run exclusively by us. It’s in one of Tignes’ best locations - the heart of Val Claret - just moments from the best slopes in the area.

Val Claret is a snow-covered ski village in the thick of the action. You can ski in (and out) of the hotel, and it has a calm but central location for doorstep access to the excellent bars and shops all around.

Enjoy breakfast with panoramic views of the slopes from our hotel restaurant. And after a day’s skiing, head back to the comforts of our bar for views of the Grand Motte and watch the last of the day’s skiers make their way home as you relax with a cuppa’ tea and a slice of cake. Take it slow for a while. You’ve earned it.

Bedrooms...take your pick

The hotel has 27 en-suite bedrooms, beautifully presented in an Alpine-Chic style with luxurious carpets, mini-fridge, writing desk, sofa seating (in most rooms) and an ensuite bathroom, of course. Almost all the rooms enjoy sunny panoramic views of the mountains and views of the Grand Motte. We have a variety of twin, double and triple bedrooms with family quads and interconnecting rooms which are great for parents who want some privacy from their kids.

Location

Once you’ve fuelled up with a delicious breakfast then simply step outside the hotel, clip into your skis and ski down to the funicular. Or cross over the road to the slopes that lead up to the Tuffs chairlift (about 200 metres away) and you’ve got immediate access to Val d’Isère or the wider slopes of Tignes.

After a good day’s skiing then you can almost ski back to the hotel front door, unclip, cross over the road and head upstairs to our bar for a well earned drink or a cuppa’ tea and a piece of cake which we provide 6 days a week.

The Ski d’Or is in the centre of Val Claret - doorstep to the ski slopes, shops and bars of this vibrant mountain resort - which is a lively (and quite pretty) place to stay - as it’s always covered in so much snow!

Eat, drink and be skiing

We believe in eating well when you’re in the mountains. And a great day on the slopes starts with a very important meal each morning in our hotel restaurant. We serve a proper breakfast with hot options on 3 days, to make sure you’re set up for all the snow and adventure you can handle.

Nothing beats a freshly-baked cake and afternoon tea when you get back in from the slopes and in the evenings we’ll tease your taste buds with a delicious three course menu. All this is served on six nights of your stay, leaving you free to explore the local restaurants on staff nights off.

  • Continental breakfast (7 days) with hot options (3 days)
  • Afternoon tea, coffee, hot chocolate with freshly baked cakes (6 days)
  • Bubbly reception on arrival night
  • Three course dinners (6 nights)
  • Bedroom welcome toiletries
  • Wine lists at guest-special prices
  • Explore the local restaurants for staff night off.
  • Special celebration menus at Christmas & New Year

About Tignes

Tignes is linked to neighbouring Val d’Isère to create a large ski area (formerly known as L'Espace Killy) with a wide range of skiing and boarding for all levels. It has about 350Km’s of pisted trails and 100’s of Km’s of usable off-piste on top, which makes this one of the largest ‘usable ski areas’ in the French Alps.

Tignes has rightly earned itself a 'Super Resort' status among the plethora of European ski resorts. It is one of the best resorts in the Alps, with impeccably maintained pistes and is famous for its high altitude skiing and an excellent snow record. A status that most other resorts can only dream of.

The slopes are characteristically wide and served by high speed lifts. This allows for effortless skiing for all abilities, less slope congestion and not so much waiting in lift queues, even in peak season!
