Family Ski Holidays

Making savings for families this winter

Updated June 7, 2025

Keep ahead of the curve and make sure that you book early for winter. We are getting unprecedented demand for our catered chalets, so please don’t leave it too late to book.

If you are committed to the school holidays and looking for a peak date, then why not try a pre-Christmas getaway when slopes are quiet and high altitude snow is guaranteed; or an Easter date, from only £479 for a catered chalet. And remember that April 2023, 2024 & 2025 all saw epic snowfall levels. In fact, 2026 had the most snowfall in the Alps since records began in 1967.

Do ask our team for a quote with your group free spaces (before they go too) and don’t miss out.

Pre Christmas getaway

Pre Christmas getaway

Quieter slopes &  cheaper prices

This pre-Christmas week is always popular because slopes are quiet, there are no lift-queues and a festive feel is in the air. It’s a lovely time to stretch those ski legs and brush off a few cobwebs before festive commitments creep in. And the best bit, is that prices are less expensive and you’ll have the resort to yourselves! Our chalets and hotels start from only £347, catered - which is incredible value - and only a few days later (the Christmas week) the same prices can almost double. So what’s different? Nothing - just the timings of the main school holidays.

You ‘ll get almost the same experience for about half the cost and empty pistes. Worried about the snow, well don't be - because all resorts are open and if you need further reassurance then head high to places like La Plagne or Tignes.

Pre Christmas getaway

The traditional Christmas week

A sociable Christmas

Christmas skiing promises a magical time for all the family and our chalets are full of festive cheer, decorated with Christmas trees and all the trimmings. Our Christmas gala menu is a special treat, as are the Santa parades, torch-light ski descents, fireworks and street entertainments. The slopes start to get busier, (but not quite as busy as New year), so if you like the idea of carving off those Christmas calories whilst having fun in a white and dreamy place - then consider Christmas… but do book now before holiday and travel prices rise.

Try a hotel if you’re a couple or a smaller group or family looking to spend Christmas sociably, with like minded folk. Our catered chalets start from only £598 with current promotions.

New Year ski holidays

New Year (8 day special)

A specially extended break

Our New Year week is our most popular break, probably because we are one of the only Operators to offer an 8 night, extended break. Our NY week runs from Saturday to Sunday… so you’ll get 8 nights for the price of 7. Consequently, our New Year holidays are in very high demand and are 78% full at the time of writing. We do still have spaces and we’ll top up your lift pass and ski hire for the extra day, for the standard public price.

In terms of cost saving ideas, then always drive rather than fly and you will save a fortune. See self-drive tips and costs versus flying.

Half Term ski getaway

Feb Half term

The big (and busy) one!

Feb half term is the date to watch as prices for flights always go UP as the date nears and demand rises. Try to book no later than August or September if you can. There is rarely such a thing as a late deal for this week nowadays, so no point in hanging around. And the more you wait for an accommodation offer, the more that travel prices will rise and cancel out any gain..

You will have busy slopes, long lift queues and you will pay for this privilege. Those in the know stay away for half term and opt for April holidays instead; which are becoming just as reliable for snowfall - as we’ve seen over the last 4 years - with consistent late season dumps. True, the new-snow gets slushy more quickly than in Feb; but it is [historically] far more abundant in April. And the development of snow canons fill in any gaps.

You can make savings by self-driving, pre-booking family lift passes and ski hire (with us) and we also give some free spaces in chalets, (if you are quick), but only for early bookings  .

Top Tip: Travel at Easter instead of February for greater savings and [historically] better snow and of course quieter slopes.

Easter ski holidays

Easter - March 29th

We love Easter skiing!

Those in the know always ski at Easter! Join us during the Good Friday week, the first week of the Easter school holidays and start to make great savings over the traditionally more popular February and early March weeks. Over the last four seasons we have seen some of the best snowfall of the season, in April 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025, with 2025 seeing the most amount of snowfall since records began in 1967.

So what’s to lose?  Not a lot. Prices are a fraction of the cost of earlier season weeks and travel is a lot less too (especially if you book early). The slopes are much quieter, the sun shines, people seem happier and you’ll get more runs in for the same time on the mountain…Perhaps this is why We Love April Skiing!

Easter ski holidays

Easter - April 5th

Most trending week

This is the week to watch. It is one of the cheaper Easter weeks and still early enough in April to be getting that good snowfall and reliable coverage, in all resorts. It is also a great time to go skiing as the atmosphere is more relaxed (the people seem nicer) and the sun shines and the lift queues are even less.

This week makes use of the Easter Monday holiday and it’s a snip of the price of the Feb half term. We don't wish to harp on about the snow reliability, but over the last 4 winters, April has produced the best snow conditions of the season, with guaranteed skiing until April 30th in all our resorts. If in doubt, then go high altitude to a premium French resort where the slopes are looked after well. We’d recommend: La Plagne, Tignes or Les 3 Vallees. We have catered chalets for all budgets in these premium resorts.

Easter ski holidays

Easter - April 12th

My personal fave!

This, the final Easter week is an absolute gem! Ski high and you’ll not only have the place to yourself, but you’ll have good snow and almost no lift queues. The sun shines and the atmosphere is less stressed and very pleasant as everyone is in wind-down mode and no one is having to deal with lift queues or too many people on the piste.

April has always produced some of the best snow conditions of the season, with guaranteed skiing until April 30th in all our ski resorts and the very high places like Tignes and Val d'Isère are open until May 5th. If in doubt, then go high altitude - but only to a premium French resort where the slopes are looked after and the canon cover is good.
