Things to do in Tignes

Tignes offers the largest variety of sporting activities in the Alps and most of them are free with our Active Packs. Tignes is situated around a beautiful lake which offers a great base for water sports, family fun and relaxation. The resort offers a plethora mountain and water-based activities for every taste imaginable. Try mountain biking, climbing, sailing or even skiing in the morning followed by fun-in-the-sun all afternoon, such as Water ball, lake swimming, fishing, Tow surfing, Pedalo, kayaking, trampolines, beach games, cycling, tennis, archery and so much more – and most activities free with our Active Packs.

A Sporty Resort!

Tignes is known not only for its great walking, biking and other traditional activities but also for its more “Extreme” and somewhat unusual activities that you will never have a chance to do elsewhere. You will have a chance to try (mostly for free on our Sportignes pass), Activities such as: Fly boarding, Blobbing, Hot Jumping, Crazy Airbag, Water ball, Tow Surfing, Gliss Speed, SUP-ing, Ski-Jump, Bike-Jump (into the lake) and more!

Mountain Biking without boundaries

Tignes has an ever-expanding reputation for terrific Mountain Biking for all abilities. Make use of our free liftpass and bike hire and sample some of the greatest riding in the alps. The area is approx 300km and has Enduro, Freeride, Bike Park, Downhill courses and Singletrack trails (Or Cross country) suited to all abilites - hardened bikers to family pottering.

Quad Bike and 4x4 Experience

The Quad bike courses and adventures along with the 4x4 driving experience in Tignes are renowned for their excellent organisation and professionalism. In either case an instructor will teach you to drive, you will learn a lot - and see incredible scenery along the way. Mini-quad circuit: €6. An adult 1-hour quad biking trip: from €45. Or a 4x4 sightseeing trip: €87. And a 4x4 Driving Experience (you do the driving) €137 per 4 persons (€34pp)

FREE Lake Activities

A focal point of Tignes is its lake: It hosts many activities from sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding and pedalo. You can even try Fly boarding among other crazy antics, most are FREE for our guests with our exclusive Multi passes.

Tow Surfing

The purpose of the Tow Surf is simple: it is surfing via a motorized machine. Pulled by the boat, the surfer can come out of the water (on the lake) and reach the necessary speed to stay on the wave. He/she can then release the lifting beam and take advantage of the sensations of surfing! Prices are from £8.

Water Ball

As mad-capped as it sounds! Roll around the surface of the lake inside a giant see through plastic ball! Feel the sensation of walking or rolling on water, great for all ages, superb fun and highly recommended, and not expensive either! From £5 for 15/20 mins.

Via Ferrata & Climbing

Two things Tignes is famous for: Rock climbing on rock faces or climbing walls, and Via Ferrata, which is  cross between rock climbing and hiking. Via ferrata is an unusual way to clamber up a rock face and reach the summit using pre-set climbing aids like ropes, wires, ladders, holds and other hardware. Well worth a go!

Paddleboarding

A great core work out and fun as well. Stand Up Paddleboarding on Tignes’ lake - get fit amongst these incredible mountains. Another free activity for guests, this souful art of walking on water will have you hooked!

Tignes’ Bike Park and MTB airbag

The Park is one of the very best in the Alps with loads of top class features and jumps, banks, berms of all shapes and sizes so everyone can have a go! Also, try the latest activity  in Tignes: The Crazy Airbag! From simple jumps to crazy tricks, flips and rotations, everyone can have a go in complete safety as you climb up a high tower and jump into an air bag below. Free on our Multi pass.

A Glacier Walk

Take the Aeroski Gondola from the centre (free for you) and once at the top walk along the ridge towards the Glacier. You will be afforded spectacular views of the Alps and a 1.5 hour traverse with moderate 0.5 to 1 hr climb at the end. Suitable for all fitness levels, this is a fantastic way to see nature and walk at altitude with un forgettable views. Take Crampons or Snow Shoes to experience walking in the snow.
