As one of the most famous alpine destinations in the world, Val d’Isère’s summer programme is a real treat! Visitors come for its pretty-and-quaint resort feel and its vibrant centre which is lined with shops, bars and cafes.

Val D’Iseres’ cocktail of forested hillsides, sunny climate and stunning scenery is served by a lift system which enables visitors to explore a wealth of walking and biking trails. We include a free lift pass, free bike hire and more than enough inclusive activities for a week (or two) away - so that everyone is entertained, from adrenaline enthusiasts to active families.

About Val DIsere

Val’ is at the top of a beautiful Tarantaise Valley in the central French Alps. It enjoys a southern, sunny location within the heart of the Vanoise National Park which teems with wildlife and rugged alpine scenery. With activities like horse riding, via ferrata, canyoning and climbing - not forgetting its endless network of trails and a free biking and walking lift pass - you really are spoiled for choice.

Where is It?

Val D’Isere is about 2 hours 45 mins drive from Geneva airport. It may appear to be a long transfer - but it’s well worth it! Val’ sits at the far end of a beautiful Tarantaise valley in the central French Alps, in the protected Vanoise National Park which teems with wildlife and offers incredible scenery. If you’re driving there, Val’ is about 8-9 hours’ drive south-east of Calais and 6 hours south of Paris.

  • Fly to Geneva (Gatwick, Luton, Edinburgh, Bristol, Liverpool)
  • Flight time: 1 hr 20m; Transfer 2 hr 50m

The Activities

All of our holidays come with a Free Active Pack which includes a selection of premium activities like white water rafting, mountain biking, professionally-guided walks, resort based activities and more.

Our Active Packs contain enough activities to keep most guests busy all week. If you reckon you can fit anymore in, then try our Active Pack upgrades or buy some extra activities in resort from our Active Reps. In total you can try up to 50 different activities and some of the best are via ferrata, high ropes adventure parks, canyoning, parapenting (aka paragliding) and horse riding to name a few.

Mountain & Road Biking

Make use of your free biking lift-pass and try out the area’s fantastic mountain biking which links with neighbouring Tignes to offer you more than 300km of world-class tracks and trails. Riders of all ability will enjoy miles of incredible cross country trails that wind their way around Val’s forested hillsides. More experienced riders will find plenty of technical trails and singletrack with bike parks, pump tracks and downhill courses

For road cyclists of all levels [of fitness] Val D’Isere has some famous rides to check out: like the Col de l'Iseran cycle up to 2,764m which takes in stunning scenery.

Families and beginners

If you’re a beginner or a family then the valley floor and lakeside trails are a great place to start. All the trails wind their way through stunning alpine scenery and will have you discovering new places all week. As you gain in confidence, you may feel like progressing onto the easier lift assisted trails at altitude.

Val D’Isere is a very pretty resort that’s perfect for families, with plenty of southern alpine summer sunshine and activities for all ages.

Summer in Val D’Isere offers a perfect blend of sporting activities, culture and relaxation, designed to appeal to all ages and tastes. We don’t offer a Kids’ Club in Val’, but the resort is very well geared up for children, with plenty of adventure parks, playgrounds, leisure centres and activities like archery, E-biking, horse riding, trampolines, climbing, biking and much more.
