Meribel ski holidays offer skiers and snowboarders immediate access to the huge 3 valleys ski domain. Meribel is a pretty Savoyard ski resort with lots of shopping and a vibrant collection of bars, clubs and restaurants. The skiing is varied and suits all levels.
The Three Valleys reach a peak of more than 3200m which more than safely guarantees good snow all season round.
There is a superb variety of skiing over the 3 valleys which offers well in excess of 640 kms of pisted runs. After Morzine-Avoriaz, it is the 2nd largest ski area in the world. The intermediate and advanced skiers have plenty of options from the steeper and faster skiing up at Val Thorens to the famous 76km circuit. This can be skied in a day and spans the whole 3 Valleys sector taking in a multitude of slopes and terrain. Meribel provides excellent opportunities for beginners and early intermediates to progress their skiing on a range of challenging or not so challenging descents. Snowboarding has very good roots in Meribel. The facilities for snowboard holidays are superb, and the snow park and pipe options (3 in total) are all very well groomed, easily accessed and include a variety of hips and jumps to suit all abilities.
The Freeriding is excellent in Meribel and riders have very good beginner conditions, excellent intermediate and advanced level terrain. A multitude of naturally featured terrain such as roll-overs, banks, cornices and excellent powder descents up at Val Thorens will entertain you for weeks on end!
Beginners tend to meet and congregate around the main Chaudanne area in central Meribel. There are some very good beginner runs in the resort however, they do tend to be on the higher slopes. This is a particular benefit because it takes the beginners higher up to the more snow-sure climates early on in the learning stages, and will help them really feel in the thick of the action that little bit more!
The après-ski in Meribel is very big business! With a large British contingent present in the resort, it makes for some interesting nights out! The bars are quite varied and the restaurants will suit all tastes and appetites, there are 2 night clubs and the well known Dick's T Bar is a great place to start!
Meribel is a resort famous for its chocoloate box feel and lovely wooden ski chalets that exude style and charm! Many of the best ski chalets are either located in a neighbour hood 500 metres from the centre or up at the "Rond Point" - which is slope side and has great apres ski! The Altiport is another location for chalets but it is a long way from town and no nightlife to speak of. Try also our Courchevel Chalets.
