Which resort is best (for biking)

All our destinations offer excellent mountain biking with many miles of exciting cross country tracks, downhill trails and bike parks with plenty of lifts to get you back up to the top again.

Morzine and Les Gets

  • 850km trails
  • 25 lifts
  • Lift pass €12 per day

Two neighbouring (linked) resorts with the largest network of trails and lifts in the Alps. In fact, there’s reported to be around 850+kms of trails served by 25 cable cars and chairlifts.

The area is suitable for beginner to expert riders: Beginners can enjoy valley floor trails and a small selection of lifts for some gentler rides trails at altitude.

The lift pass is from €5 per uplift or from €12 per day if you buy a week’s pass.

Val D’Isere and Tignes

  • 300km trails
  • 12 lifts
  • Lift pass: Free-and-included

Like Morzine and Les Gets, these two neighbouring resorts are linked - so you can ride both on the same lift pass. An additional benefit is that the lift pass for bikers is free - and our reps will give you a pass to use all week when you arrive in resort.

The trails here are more limited for beginners, but if you’re a reasonably confident trail rider you will find many miles of excellent terrain -  some steep, some not-so-steep - and much of the terrain is certainly suited to low-intermediate riders.

Family riders will find plenty of easy-cruising rides around the lake and along the valley floor.

The trails are less busy than Morzine and Les Gets, with about half as many lifts and trails (12 lifts and 300Kms of trails) on offer. But the quality of riding is excellent and the scenery is stunning. Expect more sunshine in this southern alpine super-resort.
