Chalet Ardoisieres

Morzine
6 Rooms

A quintessential mountain ski chalet; quaint and pretty to behold whilst commanding an enviable location for ‘Route One’ access to the pistes of Avoriaz and the true heart of the Portes du Soleil. Hot tub, sauna and beautiful mountain views come as standard!

The Chalet

Chalet Ardoisieres is a stunning ski chalet located close to the slopes and the Avoriaz Express cable car in the popular Les Prodains area. With its ‘ski-back-to-door’ location* and immediate access to the heart of the best skiing in the Portes du Soleil, this is a chalet that will appeal to keen skiers and boarders.

This charming alpine retreat is really very special. Set under the back drop of an impressive cliff face, it enjoys a great location and sweeping valley-views from its open plan lounge and dining room; which’ll impress you even more when soaking away in the hot tub which bubbles away on the sun deck. This is a ski chalet that comes with bags of atmosphere, but with modern luxuries, grand views and the facilities you’d expect of a premium retreat.

*You can ski back to door via an easy off-piste route under normal snow conditions. Not ideal for beginners

Location

Chalet Ardoissiers is located in Les Prodains, close to the base of the Avoriaz Express cable car. In fact, it’s about 500m or a 3 min free bus ride to the cable car and the bus stop is a few paces away. Once there, the Express will whisk you straight up to central Avoriaz in minutes and it’s a fantastic location if you’re looking for ‘Route One’ access to the best ski runs and the true heart of the Portes du Soleil.

Ski back to door

Under normal snow conditions, you can ski back to the chalet via an easy off piste route that runs from a blue run. To start your day’s skiing you can walk up the slope, clip into your skis about 100 metres from the front door and slide over to the Prodains drag lift, which links with a piste to the main Avoriaz Express cable car.

However it’s fair to say that most guests, including children and beginners choose to hop on the free bus that stops nearby (100m) it’s very easy to do.

The apres ski

Les Prodains has a few bars and cafes and the main cable car is open until midnight for easy access to the restaurants and nightlife in Avoriaz. Accessing the bars of Les Prodains and the cable car by foot is about a 10 minute walk or 500 metres to the nearest bars.

Eat, drink and be skiing

A good day on the mountains starts with one very important meal. To kick off your day, we serve a daily breakfast with hot options on 3 days to set you up for all the snow you can handle.

Nothing beats a freshly-baked cake and afternoon tea when you get back in from the slopes in the afternoon and our delicious three-course meals with unlimited wine until dessert are served six nights a week, leaving you free to explore the local restaurants for staff's night off.

  • Continental breakfast (7 days) with hot options (3 days)
  • Afternoon tea, coffee & hot chocolate with freshly baked cakes (6 days)
  • Three course dinners & wine, unlimited until dessert, (6 nights)
  • Special celebration menus at Christmas & New Year

If you pre-book your ski extras with us then our ‘On the Snow’ service will help you get started in resort. We can save you two very precious things - money and time - if you pre-book the holy trinity of ski passes, hire and lessons early with us. After all, the mountains are too much fun to waste time queuing for lift passes or traipsing around resort looking for the best deal for ski hire.

Once you arrive with us, our ‘On the Snow’ team of reps will collect pre-booked lift passes for you and deliver them to the breakfast table on your first morning. They will also do their best to fast-track you through the ski shops and get you on the mountain as quickly and easily as they possibly can.

Ski and Board Hire

Unless you own your own skis or board, then you’re going to need to rent some. Nowadays the standard of rental skis is very good and we only work with the best suppliers.

Lift Passes

We also recommend that you pre-book your lift pass through us as well. This way we can bring your lift pass to the breakfast table on your first morning before you head out.

Ski/Board Lessons

Again, we always recommend pre-booking lessons to guarantee availability. We can book you into group lessons for all levels of skier and boarder – beginner to expert.
