Your home for the week

The Charlie is a modern, bright and spacious chalet with lots of light and wonderful views. Inside is six en-suite bedrooms, an open plan dining and living area which leads onto a sunny aspect balcony and beautiful views of the Morzine valley. There’s a hot tub on the sun deck which polishes off this fantastic alpine retreat.

A great mountain location

We love the Charlie for its tranquil position (away from the bustle of town) and its uninterrupted views of the valley which is laid out below, best viewed from the hot tub! But most of all we love its great biking location - a stone’s throw from the Pleney trails (<70m away). From the trails you can bike down to the Pleney cable car and Morzine centre in a matter of minutes.

If you want to go into town then it’s about 850 metres or a 10-15 minute walk, but you might prefer to save your legs and catch the free daytime bus that stops outside and runs every 20 mins in peak season (except lunch).

It’s less than 5 mins to cycle to the centre and we even offer a free bike hire upgrade, so you get your own bike for 6 days. It’ll make getting around resort easy. And more fun too!

Eat, drink and be active

The only thing we enjoy as much as fresh mountain air is freshly-cooked food at the end of a day of energising activity. You can expect the very best from our highly-trained hosts and chefs, because we know that eating and drinking well are essential parts of any active holiday.

Each morning you’ll enjoy our very own Breakfast of Champions. A freshly-cooked Full English or other cooked breakfast options to set you up for the day; or mouth-watering continental options if you’d prefer, with a slap-up continental breakfast brought in on staff days off.

Nothing beats a freshly-baked cake and afternoon tea when you get back in from the hills and lakes, which you’ll be able to tuck into on five days of your stay. Each of our chalets has its own Nespresso machine supplying fresh coffee on tap to help you stay suitably caffeinated throughout your holiday.

In the evenings we’ll tease your taste buds with a delicious three-course menu, accompanied by free-flowing wines until dessert. All this is served on five nights of your stay, leaving you free to explore the local restaurants on staff nights off.

  • Continental breakfast (7 days) with hot options (4 days)
  • Afternoon tea, coffee & hot chocolate with freshly baked cakes (5 days)
  • Three course dinners with wine (5 nights)

What’s included in your free Active Pack?

Your 'Magic Pass’ gives you access to: (deep breath!) 2 swimming lakes, 25 lifts for hikers, 5 cultural sites, 9 tennis courts, 2 ice skating rinks, 3 tourist road trains, inter-resort shuttle buses and 850km of walking tracks & biking trails.

Reckon you can fit all that in?

With so many activities on offer, the hardest part is choosing what to do! Morzine is famous for its mountain biking and walking and has the most extensive lift network (25 lifts) and the largest number of trails in the Alps.

We put together our inclusive Active Packs so that you’ve more than enough activities to sink your teeth into on your week with us.

We include a free lift pass for hikers and walkers to explore the mountains. You can pay a little extra for a biking lift pass to use the high-altitude trails if the resort trails simply aren’t enough!

We also offer complimentary use of our top-notch Specialized mountain bikes during your stay, to help you explore. We’ll even help you get wet with a free session of kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding or white water rafting. Nothing breaks the ice with your fellow hotel guests like heading down a river at high speed on an inflatable raft, right?

*Kids Club is located at one of our main hotels.

About Morzine

Morzine is one of the must-visit summer destinations in the French Alps. Together with its neighbour Les Gets, Morzine shares access to the largest network of lifts and walking and biking trails in the Alps, and its southern location means plenty of hot summer sunshine.

In the summer months it’s a huge family-friendly playground for you to explore. You have access to 25 lifts and nearly 1000 km of graded rides, so you’ll never have to spend time pushing your bike uphill, when you could be flying down the other way! Meanwhile anyone looking to keep their feet on the ground will be spoilt for choice with the hiking trails and jawdropping vistas.

Morzine prides itself on its reputation as the perfect summer destination for the family who loves the outdoors. Whether you’re splashing about in the swimming lake, hanging out in the treetops of the adventure park or whooping your way down the La Dranse river on a whitewater raft, you’re guaranteed to end every day with a huge smile on your face and a well-deserved glow in your cheeks!

Family-friendly fun

Morzine is a great spot for the family who want to explore the mountains in summer with lots of great activities and biking for families. Only an hour from the airport also means no lengthy, excitement-sapping transfers!

The Alps are made for families to share activities together, but when parents need a breather our Active Kids Club for 4-16 year olds are open five days a week. We offer free half-day sessions of club - which is just enough time to give you some well-earned time to unwind while your youngsters can make new friends and tire themselves out trying fun activities run by our Active Kids Club Leaders.

Our Kids’ Clubs run from our main hotels, so chalet guests will have to drop kids off (and pick them up!) for each session.

If you’re travelling with kids don’t forget to ask about our family rooms and if you have babies or toddlers - our baby packs come with cots and high chairs.

Book smart & save money

  • Self Travel & save up to £250 on the cost of flights (drive-time 7-8 hrs on French side)

Why Choose Chalet Charlie?

For its secluded location

We love the Charlie for its tranquil position (away from the bustle of town) and its uninterrupted views of the valley which is laid out below. We also enjoy the hot tub and most of all its great biking location - a stone’s throw from the Pleney trails (<70m away)

Walking and biking

The Portes du Soleil opens its gondolas and chair lifts to walkers and bikers from late June to September. They span the French and Swiss Alps to create the largest network of trails in the Alps.

We provide a free walking lift pass, trail maps and route cards so you can navigate its many great itineraries. Biking lift passes start at €5 per uplift.

Weather to expect

Morzine is located quite far south in the Haute Savoie. It is about 5 or 6 hours south of Paris on a scale of latitude, so unsurprisingly it gets a lot of hot sunshine. The locals will tell you, that they initially moved here for the winters, but choose to stay because of the summers.
