About Chalet Sylvie

The chalet Sylvie is an alpine lover and Mèribel lover's delight! Found just above Mèribel's central area, with views from the chalet's balcony over the town to the mountains beyond, the hot tub bubbles away on the sun terrace, greeting weary alpinists home.

All bedrooms have stunning mountain views and also balconies from which to enjoy them. The chalet features en-suite bedrooms throughout. On the ground floor, guests have full use of a secure bike store and a jet wash for bikes.

Inclusive catering

Famished after all that fresh air? We thought so. Enjoy some delicious freshly made cakes as you return home from your adventures and look forward to our three-course dinner’s. Breakfast is of course included, and always a hearty cooked and continental affair - but that happens earlier on! More on inclusive catering.

Get stuck the activities

Meribel is an alpine lover’s paradise! A huge mountain playground that will keep everyone happy: from fun-loving families to adrenaline thrill-seekers.

We put together our inclusive Active Pack > so that you’ve more than enough activities to sink your teeth into on your week with us.

Try these activities out

Our holidays come with more free activities than you could shake a kayak paddle at. If you’d like to cram even more into your week, then you can always order some more for a little extra! Take a peak at some of the best things on offer, here.

Local knowledge

Meribel is a stunning place to enjoy a summer alpine holiday. So relax, take in the views and enjoy the hills on two wheels or two feet, rather than skis for a change.

Get the family active with any number of great activities on offer in the Vanoise National Park which has a huge variety of wildlife, great walks and stunning cycle rides. Try horse riding or golfing on Meribel’s 18 hole course…white waterrafting…Canyoning or Via Ferrata to name a few. Alternatively take your first 3500 metres peak with som eguided glacier walking at the Dome de Polset.

Meribel prides itself on its reputation as the one of the finest ski destinations in France and now they’re attracting alpine lovers, adrenaline enthusiasts, bikers and families who love the outdoors.

Whether you’re hiking the fabulous north face of La Grande Casse for a (technically) easy glacier walk or hanging from the treetops of the adventure park or whooping your way down the river on a whitewater raft, you’re guaranteed to end every day with a huge smile on your face and a well-deserved glow in your cheeks!

View Meribel

One of the reasons people love the Sylvie is its great location. It’s within a stone’s throw of the lifts and trails and moments from the bars and shops of Meribel, which are within a few minutes’ walk of the doorstep.

Family-friendly fun

Meribel is the perfect spot for the family who wants to explore the mountains in summer. Just over two hours from the airport means no lengthy, excitement-sapping transfers!

Close to all the action (and the lifts) the Sylvie is in a good spot if you have children. The chalet hosts will give a warm welcome to families, and children love the hot tub! Being close to the heart of the village means it’s easy to return to the chalet during the day to refuel and recharge.

If you’re travelling with babies or toddlers don't forget to ask about our baby packs with cots and high chairs.

Expect easy cruising rides to more technical Cross Country or Downhill itineraries. All tastes are catered for, from expert downhill charger to family cyclist who can enjoy the thrill of trail riding in stunning alpine surroundings, then riding he lift back to the top!

Walking and hiking

The Vanoise National Park is home to some spectacular scenery and a rare diversity of wildlife. While hiking you’ll come across Marmottes, the Alpine Ibex, red deer, squirrels, hares and even eagles.

Use the lifts to reach high vantage points easily and cover more miles. Have lunch at any number of mountain restaurants and enjoy the hot alpine sun with an awesome mountain vista before you.

Always take the weather with you

The French Alps are situated quite a lot further south than people imagine. About 6 hours south east of Paris is a good indication. During the summer months, temperatures will often reach 40C, and most commonly sit around 32 to 34C in July and August.

The mountains are quite changeable and their altitude means it is essential to pack high factor sun cream, as well as a light anorak for rain showers, which, if around will often pass very quickly to make way for sunshine again.
