Catamaran Sailing

Come down to Club Mayotte’s beach and take out a Hobie Catamaran (from €25 rental) or try a lesson at the campsite’s own water sports centre with H2O, a specialist sailing school. It’s not as hard as you think and complete beginners will be sailing their own boat during their first lesson. The waters are waist deep and warm, especially between June and September - so no wetsuits are needed! If you can already sail, then come along and rent a boat to go free sailing. Or why not try a private lesson with H2O’s expert instructors if you want to learn a few new tips in the afternoon breeze.

Beginner to Intermediate

For beginners to intermediate sailors, then this place is perfect! The winds are generally very light morning and they slowly build after lunch, giving children, beginners and intermediates a good opportunity to learn to sail. The afternoon’s thermal breeze usually fills in at about 2 PM and will give intermediates and experts some thrilling sailing conditions.

Your Alpine Elements rep will often be able to get a group of our own guests together for a lesson with H2O. Our group lessons are very sociable and lots of fun. Do book in advance, and ask our rep if you would like to join-in one of our group lessons on arrival.

More Expert Sailors

Lake Sanguinet is also a great place for experts to get some fast sailing in the afternoons’ thermal wind, which pipes up most days from around 3 or 4 pm. If you want more exciting sailing, (and for more of the day), then come and visit us during the months of May, June or September.

How to Book

You can book in advance with us in the UK, or on arrival with your Alpine Elements rep at Club Mayotte. There is always plenty of availability throughout the season.

For advance bookings, we prefer not to allocate a day or time that the activity will take place. Instead, your rep will do this on arrival or on a pre-departure telephone call.

At this time, they will help you plan your week. You should be able to decide when you would like to do this activity as availability is generally very flexible.
