Overview
Sainte Foy is a little known but very cherished ski resort offering beautiful surroundings and crowd free slopes.
This is the resort that Val d'isere Instructors will visit on their day off, it really is that good!
True - the slopes are minimal but boarders and skiers do not come here looking to cover mileage or long circuits of interlinking runs. Instead they will visit for crowdless pistes, excellent snow quality, and some of the best terrain in the Tarantaise valley.
Sainte Foy is known as the Jewel in the Crown of the Tarantaise Valley.Surrounded by the big-name tourist hot spots such as Val d'isere, Tignes, Les Arcs and Rosiere - Ste Foy offers quick access by road of no more than 10-15 mins. This effectively gives boarders the ultimate in variety for their week away.
Excellnt snow and dedicated Off Piste routes await boarders of all abilities who will find easy powder runs to sink into. Afterall how many resorts do you know with marked powder descents on the main trail map? The pistes are in great shape and testament to the resorts intelligent network of runs. Try the sweeping tree-lined runs on the eastern-side of the mountain under the new 6 man express chair, great for all abilities and packed with pockets of powder!
All runs lead back down to one mountain base point and a free beginner "magic carpet" makes learning cheap for the first few days. This set up is also ideal for families and kids will love the easy going atmosphere and non pressured environment. It si also very hard to lose someone with only 1 mountain base point! English speaking snowboard lessons are of course easy to find in the resort.
Sainte Foy is a pretty and exclusive mountain resort where everything is close to hand. There are a few small bars and restaurants which serve excellent cuisine, however it is wise to book in advance.
