Overview
Les 2 Alpes sits in a spectacular region of the southern Alps and is home to one of Europe’s highest glaciers which goes up to a lofty 3600m It offers one of the best destinations for summer boarding between June and Sept, and one of the most snow sure resorts for winter riders.

Very Snowboard Friendly
A pretty and characterful resort which has improved in looks over the past few years with pretty chalet-style and wooden clad buildings. Les Deux Alpes offers some of the best après ski in the Alps with a lot of shopping, restaurants and general resort life that exudes a laid back, very surf-inspired or "snowboardery" atmosphere.

Skiing & Snowboarding
Testament to the resorts friendly acceptance of snowboarders is the rather excellent park that has no less than 2 half pipes and a series of jumps, hips and rails that put most other resorts to shame.

Les Deux Alpes offers almost as many black runs as reds, and with a vast network of easier cruising slopes all over the resort - it is a resort renowned  for being a real "all rounder" place to ride.

Off Piste for all levels
One canont write a resort report on Les 2 Alpes without at least a passing mention to the incredible Off Piste, (thats powder runs to you and I), that this resort has on tap. Literally!

After a fresh fall of snow - the whole of the "front face" of the resort is rideable. The open powder fields are not too steep, and nor are they too gentle to allow unhindered riding and ensure guaranteed smiles all round, whatever your level. Then there is the famous La Grave to add to the mix. When the snow is good and the weather is pleasant, a cat track runs from the top of the Glacier over to the top of La Grave - and it is open to everyone. It literally tows riders to the start of neighbouring La Grave where you will find one of the best Off Piste descents in the world.

Beginners
Les 2 Alpes has many gentle slopes on the glacier so beginners are able to snowboard on fresh, high altitude snow conditions all season long. Added to this is an extensive network of easy and intermediate cruising trails and super-wide motorway pistes that make learning and progressing very easy. The suitability of the glacier to beginners means that you will not be confined to the lower, (unreliable snow-covered), nurseries - as is the case in most resorts.

Resort life
Fact: Les 2 Alpes is one of the best resorts for nightlife in the Alps. It may attract visiting DJ's from around the world and more high calibre snowboard events than you can shake a stick at, but don't let that put you off a quiet après board beer. This place may offer some exciting drinking and clubbing, but it has just as many"quieter joints" and good restaurants as it does the more "late night" establishments.

In summary - the resort is quite attractive to look at and very interesting and atmospheric to stay in. It won't cost you the earth and the locals are very friendly and a great snowboard vibe seems to rule.

Combine all this with its height, the attraction of La Grave and the endless powder opportunities available - and this is perhaps why Les 2 Alpes is one of the hottest, (or coolest), snowboard destinations in the world!
