The Vanoise Express cable car is quite a experience in itself carrying you 380m above the bottom of the valley. It’s 2km long but for those who have trouble with idea of being squeezed into a metal box dangling from a wire - don’t worry, at 4 minutes it’s super quick.

With guaranteed snow, the top lift takes you to the heady heights of 3250m, the potential for creative free styling is endless.

Whether it’s big motorway pistes that are perfect for carving or hitting the park is more your style  you’ll find this resort will keep you busy for days.

BEGINNER BOARDING

If you are a beginner boarding you have 17 learn to snowboard schools to choose from, and once you’ve mastered your turns then La Plagne's huge amount of blue runs will keep you more than busy with breath taking alpine views over towards Mount Blanc. In short, La Plagne is great for beginner and See Family Ski Holidays

FREESTYLE SNOWBOARDING

There are four fun parks at your disposal plus a natural 90m long half pipe over at Plagne Bellecote.
At the Champagy en Vanoise park (LA Rossa chairlift) freestyle sessions are held every Wednesday  morning and Thursday evening with  large thumping speakers keeping everybody  psyched.

Alternatively you can hop over to The Colorado Funiplagne for a very comprehensive park. Split into 4 sections of graded obstacles, green,,blue, red, and black this 2.5km square park is sure to keep even the most discerning rider happy.

FREERIDE SNOWBOARDING

Head over to the north face of Bellecote for some amazing off-piste , also off the back of Aime La Plagne and Col de Nant glacier are recommended . Of course as always, do take a guide, transcievers, probe etc when atemping  these routes. Particulary the glacier to avoid the crevasses.
Night riding and Heliboarding are also available at La plagne for the more adventurous.

SNOWBOARDING FOR ALL LEVELS

Although this resort is often described as very good for intermediates because of it’s huge variety of gentle blues and reds - don’t write this resort off as too easy because if you're looking for a challenge you could be seriously missing out. The more confident you are on a board the more you will get from La Plagne., the memory of it’s powder fields, couloirs and  north facing tree lined pistes will stay with you for an incredibly long time. You’ll be planning your next visit as soon as possible!

LA PLAGNE - RESORT LIFE

Don’t be put off by the utilitarian buildings of Plagne 2000. Many of these house some brilliant buzzing bars and restaurants, head to La Mine where the seasonaires tend to hang out, No’b’l’m for the house shots and for live music don’t miss PlanJa.nl.

Plagne 1800 has a more chalet-style feel to it, great for couples and family skiing holidays with not quite so many bars but very easy slope access (like 2000) but more pleasing on the eye. Plagne 1800 still has quite a few good bars and restaurants though.
