We have introduced thousands of snowboarders to our sport over the last 12 years and our dedicated snowboard staff never run out of steam or good ideas to help make that learning curve even easier for beginners. Our accredited snowboard schools are the best you will find and have been specially selected for their patience and performance.
Lessons, equipment and instructor programmes have been getting better over the years, and so much so that we know we can get any aspiring rider of average physical fitness - up and going in just 3 days! That means turning both ways and stopping in (relative) safety! In fact you will be cruising all over the resort on your own two feet by the end of your first week.
The following Chalets have been selected for their suitability to beginner and intermediate snowboarders. All our chalets are of course snowboard-friendly, but here are a few - located in Europe's greatest snowboard resorts that we feel you shouldn't miss!
Avoid the expense of full day lessons which do more to overwhelm than to inspire. We recommend a 3 or 5 half day course of lessons which will give you the right balance of "instructor-time" to get the basics mastered and "you-time" to practise what you learnt in your own space. Our experience and stats have shown that novice boarders get more from the snow with this combination of instructor and personal input. The added advantage is that half day lessons are cheaper for you!
On top of one of our holiday packages, you will need 3 or 5 half days of snowboarding lessons, a local area liftpass and snowboard hire. We then advise picking a beginner friendly resort. Our beginner resorts have been hand selected for the their low-pressured atmosphere (see below) which is handy for confidence boosting, the range of good schools and the variety of easy slopes on offer.

What follows is a run down of our Top 5 beginner Snowboard Resorts, ones that your shouldn't miss - beginner, inter or advanced!
Les Gets and Morzine (2 resorts next door) are both part of a huge ski and snowboard area, (the biggest in the world), and one that lends itself perfectly to beginner riders. You will find easy slopes, hassle free chair lifts, english speaking instructors and smooth wide slopes with a low pressure atmosphere and a very friendly outlook to boarders. Les Gets even has its own beginner / intermediate snowboard park which must be the only one of its kind in France. In other words a park that is completely un-intimidating from top to bottom thus giving novice riders all the confidence they need to master the basics and the technical basics from rails to small jumps and even hips. The slopes offer excellent beginner powder opportunities as well as more challenging stuff for when you get good!
LES ARCSHot on the heels of Les Gets for beginner suitability, Les Arcs has firm roots in snowboarding history, (home to the famous Regis Roland A Boards team), and thus a firm grip on its snowboard facilities and beginner suitability. Our chalets in Les Arcs 2000 have doorstep access to a network of easy slopes and powder fields to suit novice riders and those cutting their teeth on freeriding. See Snowboarding Les Arcs

This is a truly great resort to snowboard in, and linked with Les Arcs to form the huge Paradiski area - La Plagne has famous roots on snowboard history. Beginners will find English speaking schools galore and lots of un-intimidating slopes - ideal to practice on. The powder runs are also fantastic and easy to cut your teeth on which is important because every aspiring boarder wants to try powder snow! You will find long (easy) descents and snow parks with small jumps. We have lots of slope side chalets at all budgets to choose from.
Courchevel is part of the large 3 Valleys ski and board area that encompasses Meribel and Val Thorens. With over 600kms of Piste it is a mecca for all levels of rider. Courchevel 1650 itself is particularly great for beginner and intermediate boarders because it has such great rolling terrain with lots of natural features to get air off! The slopes are all well connected andwide with easy lifts and great snowboard schools. The apres scene is also lots of fun, down to earth and significantly less snooty than its sister resort Courchevel 1850.
TIGNESTignes is an almighty French resort with the highest and best rideable glacier in Europe. Tignes also has (arguably) the best snow in the Alps, perhaps the world - with its year-round ski-able/ ride-able glacier. In fact its not quite year round (it used to be) but you still can ride Tignes in June and July and expect fresh snow of up to 2 feet in the summer months! Tignes has superb off piste for all levels, lots of great snowboard schools and our chalets are right in the thick of it all!
