High altitude skiing and high octane party town - with summer opening on the glacier.
Les Deux Alpes, or Les 2 Alpes as it is commonly known by the Brit-brigade is a well visited ski area by UK Tour Operators and their package skiers. It is unfortunately a bit of a dumping ground for bargain basement holidays and the resort has sadly not shaped up nicely in the wake of its club 18/30 style atmosphere. As one of the most southern resorts in France snow can be a problem on the lower slopes, but Les 2 Alpes has a very high glacier stretching to over 3600 metres so snow is certainly guaranteed from late December and for April skiing.
The resort is known for its party atmosphere, late night clubs and big name DJs. The bucking bronco bar on the main strip is an absolute must - if only to watch beered up revellers try their hand at tequila-induced bronco riding on the bar's lifesize electric bronco machine. Guaranteed to spill your drink..
The skiing and snowboarding in Les Deux Alpes is very well catered for with approx 250km of slopes and a very good terrain park for snowboarders with halfpipes and jumps of varying sizes.
The southerly location of Deux Alpes ensures high levels of sunshine and not many cloudy or flat-light days, however the trade off is a fast diminishing snow-supply as soon as late March comes round.
