Val d'isere
Val d'isere is one of Europe's better known ski resorts with prices which used to only attract the well heeled skier. However there are plenty of cheaper beds to be found in this resort. Skiers need only to beware that resort prices are still very high even if a cheap chalet or ski package can be found in Val'disere.

Val d'isere facts
Val d'isere is twinned with the excellent resort of Tignes to form the Espace Killy. Tignes ski holiday and resort prices are far more reasonable and it is a well known fact that the skiing on the Tignes side is a whole lot better.

Val d'isere Chalets
Val d isere offers quite a chic image, boutique shopping, excellent apres ski and great service in its various cafes, restaurants and ski shops. Prices are high but you get an attentive service and a lovely atmosphere.
The resort or village itself sits at 1800 metres and so is always covered in snow. The town is reasonably attractive but not as pretty as one would expect from such a highly sought after or expensive resort. It is certainly prettier than Tignes but then Tignes Brevieres is a beautiful part of the Espace Killy, in which you can stay for a third less cost - and of course get direct access to much better skiing!
Val d'isere chalets range from the super-luxurious to a very basic standard of hostel-type accommodation, and you will pay a premium for even the most standard of chalets - so do your research well! Val d'isere is a sprawling resort and many of the chalets are located far from the slopes and resort centre. If your chosen Operator does not offer a courtesy Landrover or shuttle from chalet to slopes, then you may have to rely on shuttle buses.
Val d'sere is a very International resort and understands visting tourist needs. Restauranteurs and ski instructors speak excellent english and offer an almost un-rivalled service. True you pay alot for their work - but the quality of instruction is outstanding.
