At an altitude of 2300mthis snow sure resort offers superb ski holidays and some extremely vibrant après ski entertainment. It has a very strong international feel, and is a particular favourite of Scandinavian and British skiers and snowboarders. The '4th Valley' and other great off piste and powder areas are most easily reached from Val Thorens. Extensive skiing is on offer to intermediate and family skiers and the majority of ski chalets enjoy slope side positions.
The vast majority of Val Thoren's slopes are North or North West facing, which means that peak snow conditions are maintained for farther into the day than with South facing slopes. The resort itself though is South facing, which means that Apres Ski afficianados can enjoy their rest & recuperation in warm winter sunshine !
