My family, including my 18yr old son and two friends stayed at the Lavachey for a week from 17th Jan.
What a fantastic holiday, we were right on the slopes, a short distance from four main lifts so the Chalet was an ideal base to operate from. The food was varied and very tasty and a credit to the cook (Jen), all the staff were helpful and accomadating to our requests. The wine containers if ever emptied were soon full again.
The dinners was always on time and Jen even made cakes for afternoon tea which was from 3pm, we were able to pop back for tea & cake and return to the slopes if we wished to.
I would certainly return to Chalet Lavachey and would recommend it.

All of the chalet staff couldn't have been more helpful and took care of us from start to finish. The girl responsible for the cooking (Jen), managed to cook up imaginative and delicious food for over 30 guests every evening and still managed to find time to come and chat while she did.
The Lavachey now seemed to be running smoothly under new ownership and I would recommend it to anyone.

I spent a week in this chalet (6 - 13 Dec 2009) and had a great week's skiing. The chalet is now run by Alpine Elements and I found their organisation very efficient. The chalet staff (Kim, Stephanie, James, Eston and Charlie) were very helpful and friendly and provided decent food and plenty of wine each day which made my stay very comfortable.
Kelly the area rep was often in the chalet in support and was always very attentive to the needs of the guests. The chalet itself has had a superficial makeover and provides excellent value for money.

The chalet is in a fantastic location, just a stones throw from the main gondola station and chairlifts and although its right on the main road through the village, being a one-way system means there is very little road noise or traffic. The short distance is a welcome feeling after a hard day on the slopes.
In terms of living accomodation, at meal times the dinning room just about coped with the number of guests staying at the chalet, but it was a tight squeeze. It would be a great boost to have heated boot racks. Whislt this may seem a luxury, having stayed in many other catered chalets, this is more the norm than the exception and is a welcome facility.
We thoroughly enjoyed the holiday and our stay with Alpine Elements. The staff in all catered chalets play a large part in guests experience and the staff who looked after us were friendly, efficient, helpful and at all times professional. A great reflection on Alpine Elements.

“Great Vacation at Tignes”
September 7, 2011
Took the family with Alpine Elements, to Tignes in the French Alps, for an activity holiday. What a great time we had. Adam, Andy,Becs and rest of staff at Hotel Lavachey were the best, couldn't ask for better. Even before we left the U.K. the message from Adam saying he would be meeting us at the airport with transport to the resort etc, set the standard for us. The mountain biking was more than we were used to, but with Andys advise and guided rides our 2 boys had a great time. The sport activities provided by Tignes were spot on. The tennis, football, volleyball, table tennis, sailing, kayaking kept the family busy.
Great day had white water rafting. Even got some morning skiing in on the Glacier!
Will deffinatley be back.

“Clean & Comfortable”
July 23, 2011
Just returned from staying 1 week in Chalet Lavachey run by Alpine Elements. Having read the reviews i was a little bit dubious as to what to expect. We had a room on the top floor which have been modernised, the twin room was basic, seperate toilet and bathroom with balcony. The room was clean, beds very comfortable, with regards to the balcony, i wouldn't want a child going out there as the wooden railings were rotting.
The chalet itself holds 33 though the seating in the lounge struggled to hold 15, seperate dining room which again to capacity would be a squeeze. The chalet is in need of some TLC as it is looking abit dated, however as we were out from 9-7pm and was only using it as a base, it didnt really bother us. If you are staying here, try and get a room on the top floor as rooms 1-3 are all near the main door and the sound of the buzzer and people slamming doors will drive you in sane. Positive notes, the chalet staff were fantastic, Adam, Bex and the rest of the team, nothing was too much trouble, Adam the rep was on hand to drive people anywhere if they wanted to go somewhere, none of the guys pressured you into buying anything, ie trips, the afternoon cakes were to die for, and again breakfast and evening meals were lovely. Our holdiay came with the use of mountain bikes for 3 days, Andy the resident guide was on hand to take guests out on rides or on one of his walks.. the 11k round walk to val d'isere with him is highly advised. On the whole, would i come back for the winter ski season..Yes, put please invest in some decorating.

“Would definitely return”

I though this was an excellent chalet. It is fair to say that it is a little outdated but what certainly makes up for that is the location and staff.
The staff could not do enough to make the holiday more enjoyable and it had a very homely feel.
The location is such that you are a matter of metres from the slopes and this is awesome first thing in the morning and after the last run of the day.
I will be returning again as I know it will be a great holiday. Go for it!

“Amazing location, basic chalet, good food.”
April 26, 2011
I have stayed with Alpine Elements a few times and have no complaints. Lavachey is in a great location which is seconds from main lifts going up both sides of the valley. Having been to Tignes a few times and had to walk up hills and/or stairs to get to chalets this is one to remember. The decor is basic, but clean and practical. Food good. Lemon drizzle cake to die for. The black run back to the chalet after a few beers at the Folie Douce is a challenge.

“Tremendous value for money and a location second to none.”
April 26, 2011
We spent a week in Chalet Lavachey, Tignes, in February 2011, and enjoyed our stay there immensely. Okay, it's certainly not a luxurious property, but it was clean, the staff were superb and couldn't do enough for us, the food was good, and the location was worth the money alone!
The rooms were small, but it's purely somewhere to sleep, and the beds were comfortable enough. A bit of cosmetic TLC wouldn't go amiss, but it didn't affect our enjoyment. We had 4 children with us, all under 9, and the staff bent over backwards to make sure they enjoyed their stay. Small things like feeding them earlier than the adults was better for them, and allowed us to dine in peace!
The lifts and ski-school were literally 200 yards from the front door, and snow permitting, the chalet is ski-to-door. I wouldn't think twice about returning, and would recommend it highly, bearing in mind it's basic but comfortable and very friendly, with a location to die for!

“Great central location close to Lifts and town centre”

Stayed with Alpine Elements - This is a Bronze rated Chalet Hotel and we got exactly what we paid for - clean, warm and simple accommodation - Breakfast included a warm option every day, there was cake and tea every afternoon, and a basic but wholesome 3 course meal cooked every night by our chef Adam (except staff day off) which we felt got progressively better as the week progressed. There was usually 3 waitresses who were all very personable. Our Chalet Manager - Moira - was always on hand, and we had her mobile number - This proved very useful when my wife became injured on the slopes and we needed to travel back from Val D'Isere. There had been no snow for a couple of weeks, but the pistes were immaculate - no bare patches or ice. This is the first time ewe've used Alpine Elements, and 2nd visit to Tignes and we'd certainly re-visit in the future, and would certainly consider travelling with AE and staying at the Lavachey.
