The best lift pass for beginners is the Les Gets local pass, which covers the valleys of Les Gets and Morzine. A beginner may not get the best out of a Portes Du Soleil lift pass so it’s best to stick with a local pass for your first weeks on snow. Your instructor will probably start by taking you to the Chavanne nursery slopes, and then as you progress you can try the best easy blues in the area: Gentiane and Bruyeres, both on the Les Gets side of the valley.
For developing intermediates, there are plenty of blue and red runs on which to have fun practising your turns, especially in the Ranfolly bowl and near Mont Chery. If you’re learning to ski, come to Les Gets, because it’s a great place to improve and you’re sure to have a lot of fun.
