Courchevel, like all the resorts in the Three Valleys, is a great place to take your first steps on snow. The resort is split into several villages, and each village has its own beginner areas which are great for taking those first turns and for building confidence. Around and about Courchevel 1850 (the most exclusive resort) there is an especially good network of green runs - unrivalled for variety in any other resort.

If you’re not staying in 1850, don’t worry because there are beginner areas in Courchevel 1650, 1550, La Tania and Les Praz as well, and travelling between the villages is easy on the excellent public transport system of buses and pedestrian lifts.
If you’re a beginner, you’ll be best off with a Courchevel local lift pass, which still gives you an amazing 200km of piste to explore. The blue runs around Courchevel 1650 are great fun, and usually quiet, so this is a good area to progress to when you want to move on from greens. For intermediates, even lower-intermediates, a Three Valleys pass is well worth the money. You can travel all over the area on blues and easy red runs (the ‘Creux’ run, coming back down into Courchevel from the Meribel Valley, is a particular favourite) and you’ll enjoy exploring the vast terrain. Being with a ski instructor you’ll be introduced to the best runs for your level, so you can have a great time zipping around the pistes with friends after your half day lessons have finished, or towards the end of your week.
