Plans for Courchevel 1850, the first purpose built ski resort in France, can be traced back to the middle of WW2: 1942. The huge Trois Vallees ski area has quite a reputation to live up to, which it manages with ease. Not only can it boast over 600kms of the best piste skiing anywhere, but it also has enough variation to thrill all levels. Courchevel's own couloirs are acknowledged as offering some of the very best Black runs - on par with any resort! The off-piste is also the stuff of dreams, with un-tracked powder often easily accessible to those with the craving.
Courchevel 1850 has become synonymous with the 'rich and famous' ski lovers; from pop stars to Russian oligarchs, glitz and glamour and power pours over the four towns which make up Courchevel. In fact, it has been said that Courchevel is "The most expensive resort in the Alps"! Whilst this may be an image which Courchevel likes to cultivate, we know that our ski packages allow any skier to sample the delights of this supreme resort - without breaking the bank. Although named Courvchevel 1850, the top station is a little under 1750m, however, this has no affect on Courchevel's reputation as having one of the most snow sure records in the French Alps.
ABOUT THE TOWN
|
Courchevel skiing makes full use of the famous Trois Vallees 76km long ski circuit, and can offer very mellow skiing for all levels of skier and snowboarder through to the more advanced. Located in the centre of Courchevel 1650, even our Premium ski chalets reflect the better pricing and more down to earth accommodation available than that in the somewhat ostentatious Courchevel 1850.
Three Valleys skiing is unquestionably some of the best in France, offering great variety for all levels of ability. Intermediate and advanced skiers and
boarders will find extensive skiing within the enormous 3 Valleys, which covers high altitude skiing, the glacier at Val Thorens and around 650kms of pisted slopes!
BEGINNER SKIING COURCHEVELThe spacious and well groomed ski slopes of Courchevel really help take the effort out of skiing for the novice! With an excellent reputation, the ski school is also well renowned for it's friendliness too. Beginners can progress to the higher slopes and networks of green and blue runs which are easy to get to from the resort centre.
Courchevel offers some very good snowboarding with easy and technical terrain to appeal to all abilities. The lower slopes have a wealth of natural features, including small jumps, cat tracks, hips and some truly great carving terrain!
