On arriving at the Boule De Neiges (which means ball of snow by the way) we were greeted by two very happy faces, the hotel manager and rep, who made us feel very welcome and even offered to carry our bags. The Boule De Neiges has a very warm feeling and quite a quirky look with lots of wooden surfaces and cool decorations like an old bike on the wall and ancient sledges etc.

Our room was more than adequate for our holiday, we had a weeks snowboarding ahead of us and only intended to us the room for sleeping/washing and storing our stuff, for which these rooms are perfect, the cleanliness is top notch too, you could literally eat your dinner off the floor (although I would'nt advise it!) I was very impressed with the food, a three course meal was served every night at half seven, which gives you plenty of time in the evening to go out and get absolutely poggered! and literally every plate in the room was spotless at the end of dinner. During dinner there was always a member of staff at the ready for any of your requests, including extra bread! yummy.

The facilities at the hotel are brilliant, there's a toilet at the bar/restaurant, as well half way up the stairs, and of course in your room, which means you don't have to walk up three flights of stairs for a whizz if you're enjoying a nice pint at the bar. Whilst we're on the subject the bar is awesome, staff are always quick and they have lots to offer, I recommend trying the Chartreuse its really tasty, they also offer a 'Loyalty card' for the bar which gives you discount off selected drinks which is well worth it at five euros cos it saved me some serious wedge.

The best point of the entire experience for me was the staff, they are such a great bunch of people always up for a laugh but also making sure you have the best time possible, they are very professional, and always happy to bend over backwards to fulfill your needs.

I made some great friends in Chamonix, at the Boule De Neiges as well as in town, which brings me onto the night life! The bars are awesome, they have a wide selection, from quaint wine bars to old school rugged bars with foosball tables and dart boards etc. One bar I would recommend is 'Barred Up' which is very close to the BDN and is well cool I had lots of fun there and all the people were wicked.

Overall I would rate the Boule De Neiges as Excellent, and if there was an 'AMAZING' box, I would tick that one! Definitely worth a visit and an all round great holiday location. Thanks BDN!
Many thanks,

"Nice characterful hotel - good location in Cham'!"
We stayed here in March this year and I have to say it was a great holiday, we were made especially welcome by staff and nothing too much trouble. Food was spot on and the entertainments were fun and really got the guests gelling.

The hotel is central but not noisy, and its close to teh slopes which although is just a nursery slope - still means you can ski back to within a couple of mins of the front door which is not easy to do in Chamonix. Yep - we'd return and we'd recommend this place for a cheap and cheerful holiday.

“Decent base to Ski in Chamonix”
The hotel although not the most modern or luxurious was very adequate for the what we required. The staff were all very young but eager to accommodate our requests without trouble.

The rooms were small but comfortable and provided the amenities we had expected. The bar was well stocked, lively and good value compared with other places in Chamonix, guests are given a good discount on bar prices. The hotel is well placed for getting to the various ski areas around Chamonix and the ski hire shops.

Dear Alpine Elements – Thank you so much for organising our return journey – I congratulate you on the efficiency and helpfulness of all your team.  We are home only 20 hours later than originally expected, and that is thanks to your care and quick response to the situation.  I must also say the staff in Chaminox were really pleasant and made us feel welcome.  This venture could have been a disaster because I took my grandchildren for their first ski holiday this week – and it was just the three of us – but thanks to your recommendation of the Evolution 2 ski school for morning lessons it was ideal.  We had read bad reviews of Boule De Neige, but we were very lucky and had the best room in the hotel, and got on really well with the other families there so the children were happy.  The hotel is basic, but that is what we were expecting and it served us well.  Thanks again to you and your staff.
Best wishes

Stayed here whilst skiing for a week. Ideally located very close to the centre (but not at all noisy).

Rooms are basic with straight forward furniture but this was fine as wasn't there to spend time in the room. Had ensuite shower - plenty of hot water (nearly all of the time).

Bar on site used by others as well but never busy nor noisy. Drinks were sensible prices and 20% off to residents. Staff are young Brits but very enthusiastic and willing. Probably could have done with with more knowledge of the local area.

Food was excellent especially for a budget hotel and far better than many of the chalets I've stayed in. Well done Digby!

Im just back from a week at hotel BDN and I loved it :-)

If you are used to (or expecting) 4/5* you may be disappointed but then again UR not paying for that! The rooms are small and basic (but clean), frankly we didnt spend much time in it 'cos the bar area was such a nice place to be. The staff were very friendly, helpful & attentive without being in your face. The minor problems we had (light bulbs etc) were dealt with promptly and professionally. They really had a 'can do' attitude which makes such a difference compared to other ski accomodation Ive stayed in, we felt they definitley put our needs first.

We had no problem with our shower or hot water, there were no power cuts during our stay and the food was superb. It was nice to have a cooler bedroom (not sure if the rad worked or not to be honest) we slept with the window open and its the first ski-holiday where Ive not overheated at night! There is no drying room as such but the boot/ski locker room is very warm so served this purpose OK.

Ive been skiing maybe a dozen times on this budget and this place stacks up pretty well in my opinion...I have stayed in far, far worse. Yes the accomodation is fairly basic but UR not paying for 4/5 stars and this place is great value for money and the food is way better than you would expect at this price. What I really liked about this place is the atmosphere which is something you cannot manufacture, the staff make it special as nothing is too much trouble. I have stayed in countless soulless posh hotels in the past (with my job) and this place makes such a refreshing change.

To sum up if you are looking for 4/5 star with all the trimmings don't come here. If you to stay somewhere a bit different with personality & character where the staff are trying their level best to ensure that you have the best holiday, then come here.

“Simple but had everything I needed
I had a lovely time here and haven't got anything to complain about. The food was fantastic, especially for the amount you pay for the holiday. The staff were nice and friendly and the area is beautiful.
The onoly thing I could say is that the staff could be bit more organised with what was going on - but it wasn't a problem really.

A nice simple hotel in the centre of town, it suited me fine!
