 Ski holidays Alpe dhuezAlpe D’huez is a Glacial resort with some very high altitude skiing at 3330m on the Pic Blanc Glacier. It offers value ski holidays at high altuitudes - which are normally only associated with expensive holidays! It is also home to some of the longest summit to base descents in the world, and the resort has a fantastic sunshine and snow record! The longest run in resort is a staggering 17 kilometres in total!

Skiing in Alpe D'huez

Intermediate and advanced skiers will really enjoy the long descents starting at the Glacier and the wide variety of fast cruising runs in the area. The quality of advanced and intermediate level skiing is really very good indeed and will allow skiers to push their abilities and see real improvements in a short space of time.

Snowboarding in Alpe D'huez

Snowboarding in Alpe D’huez and around the Glacier is especially good. The area specialises in long descents, great powder snow and the natural terrain (rollovers and cat tracks) are excellent for boarders wanting maximum fun on the way downhill!

Flats and traverses are minimal in the area so beginner boarders are not forever un-strapping and scooting about! The Snow Park and Halfpipe are very well maintained, and offer good beginner options in the jumping stakes too.

With up to 69 easy runs and a great network of blue and green runs around the mountain base, the beginner skiers and boarders are furnished with a lot of choices that are easy to get to and will not intimidate you in the learning period. The local instructional services are also very good with the usual English speaking schools readily available.

The night life in Alpe D'huez is very varied and also very close to the chalet, without causing a disturbance. It ranges from chic bars and café culture to a more lively and up-for-it party atmosphere with nightclubs and plenty of late night bars all over resort.
