Meribel is located in the heart of the ever popular Three Valleys which offers some of the most extensive skiing in Europe. Meribel is a pretty resort with a heavy British presence and the nightlife is very entertaining! The skiing is suited to all abilities and allows one to cover much mileage during a week away.
Our Meribel chalets are traditional, wooden style buildings with log fire and ski to door or central locations. Many of the cheaper chalets are just older properties, still in great locations but clearly offered at value prices. Skiers simply have to put up with an older style of decor but they will still enjoy a lovely, traditional ski chalet with a warm welcome, lots of hot water, a log fire, balconies and a good location in one of the world's best ski destinations. See Meribel Ski Holidays for more.
More Premium or luxury Meribel Chalets have similar locations as our value chalets, but they are newer and perhaps have hot tub and suana, newly fitted bathrooms and decor. They offer the same ski convenience (location) but are just that bit more modern and appealing to the eye.See Catered Ski Chalets for more chalet and resort options.
Our chalets come fully catered (chalet board) with breakfast and cakes for tea with 3 course evening meal - served with wine. Chalet hosts cook and clean and resort managers and reps are there to attend to your every detail - whether it be liftpasses to the breakfast table or ski hire, lesson needs.
Meribel Resort Info Meribel: the heart of the three valleys. In this pretty, traditional village the ugly concrete blocks of the modern ski resort are nowhere to be seen. The resort has grown over the years but development has been sensitive and typical wooden chalets are still the order of the day.
Our chalets are all traditional in style and wooden-clad buildings with great slope-side locations or in positions located right next to the nightlife and après ski. This is a rare thing for Meribel which is such a large and sprawling resort.
The skiing is fantastic: with access to 600km of piste across Meribel, Courchevel, Val Thorens and their satellite resorts, you could occupy yourself for a season let alone just one week! This is a paradise for intermediate skiers and boarders: try the red run ‘Jerusalem’ down from Meribel’s Plan de l’Homme chair to the picturesque St Martin de Belleville, or head up to Mont Vallon for brilliant views down the Meribel Valley. The best off-piste in the area lurks off Courchevel’s ‘Chanrossa’ chair, while beginners are extremely well-catered for on Meribel’s gentle nursery slopes.
No description of Meribel would be complete without reference to the nightlife. The resort is sometimes known as ‘Mer-ibiza’ by ex-pat locals, and with good reason. ‘Le Pub’, ‘Jacks’ and ‘Scott’s’ provide a good warm up for the main event: ‘Dick’s Tea Bar’, where the so-inclined can party until the small hours. If you’re looking for something a bit quieter, you won’t be disappointed, as there are many places for a quiet drink or sophisticated cocktail: try ‘Barometer’ or the Francophile ‘Bar de La Poste’. And, on the way off the mountain to your chalet for a delicious 3-course dinner, stop off at the ‘Rond-Point’, Meribel’s apocryphal après ski destination. One not to be missed!
