A bargain ski holiday with Alpine Elements and tips on how to find one!

Bargain ski holidays can still be found in the premium European ski resorts without having to visit low -end budget resorts such as Andorra  or those in Bulgaria.

Alpine Elements offers some excellent cheap ski deals that won't break the bank or have you staying in a low class establishment, or worse still an Eastern Block resort with no snow.

How to save money

Skiing Holidays are no longer a wise man's folly, they can be afforded by everyone! First and foremost it is important to make use of an all inclusive Ski Holiday where you are not at the mercy of the dreaded currency fluctuations. Our ski packages can be completely pre-booked in advance (in sterling) and can inlcude everything from travel and catering to lessons, hire and liftpass. With our mass purchasing power we also attract big discounts from our suppliers such as the ski hire, so it will always be cheaper to pre-book an all-inclusive ski package.

Second is to choose a resort that offers value for money and family discounts. For example, Les Gets and Morzine are cheaper than most other resorts for extras such as liftpasss and lessons and this will save you up to £50 a head over another resort. Why this is the case we don't know - because Morzine and Les Gets are two of the finest resorts in the Alps, so there is no loss of quality! Another good resort to try is Sainte Foy for an all-time bargain priced ski pass and also. Chamonix offers great deals for family ski passes.

Third is not to buy full area liftpasses unless you are sure you will use them to the full, and they are usually only made full use of by intermediates of 3-4 weeks and above. This makes ski passes for resorts such as Meribel, Courchevel much cheaper and great value for bargain skiing!

Fourth is to try one of the "back door" resorts which are linked to their more well known premium ski destinations. True ski bargains can be found in such places as St Martin (Meribel), or Les Allues (Meribel), La Praz, (Courchevel) and Tignes Les Brevieres, which is not really "back door" as it is the original town of Tignes  - but remains cheap anyway!

FInally we would always recommend to travel at non-peak periods. Try not to travel at Half term or New year where one can expect to pay up to a third extra, on top of the usual rates! There is no such thing asbargain ski holidays in these periods. We are seeing that some schools are becoming more lenient with allowing parents to take kids away in high season. If you have to travel at half term then try driving out. Four in a car is substantially cheaper than 4 flights and families can expect good discounts from Tour Operators for self travel.

Where to stay:

Try a ski holiday to Les Gets and perhaps stay in our Hotel Chamois - which offers cheap skiing but a central location, great food and a clean hotel. Added to which Les Gets is part of the excellent portes du Soleil ski area which is the largest linked are to ski in Europe (650kms of slopes) and only 1 hour from Geneva.
