Easter ski holidays usually require high altitude ski resorts, however due to the excellent snow this year - even the lowest resorts are guaranteeing skiing well into May. We are pre-empting the Easter rush by making use of some cheaper flights and offering our Easter deals a touch early this year. Get in quick while the inventory remains, and remember that over the first Easter holiday week (April 5-12) flights are limited - so please do not wait for cheaper prices.
All of our chosen resorts offer high altitude, glacier skiing or northerly locations which ensure the best snow cover in the Alps. We also only operate in premium resorts in the French Alps which provide snow cannon cover to over 60% of their slopes. Snow cannons are not really needed above 1500 metres but most resorts supply them for peace of mind. So even if the snow is at all iffy - you can still be guaranteed to ski on real snow*. See Ski Holidays France
Getting guaranteed snow is not simply about choosing a high altitude ski resort. Snow still needs to be managed and the ground that it falls upon must be well prepared to hold the base. Again we only operate in premium French resorts that tend to these things. Many high altitude resorts simply let the snow fall onto poorly prepared lower slopes, which means it will not stick. Many of them also do nothing about storage of snow and moving it around to provide a more even coverage around the mountain. Beware - height is not everything, a good ski resort for April skiing is often one that is a combination of the two: high slopes and a good name where the local commune spends money on resort facilities.

*Snow cannons pump water from reservoirs or lakes and spray the water from jets on a cold day, or indeed at night. As the water leaves the cannon it crystallises and forms a fine snow which is often then moved about the mountain by piste bashers (tractors).
