The 2 Star TTR rating Australian Rookie Fest is looming large in the sights. Thredbo breaks new ground for the Southern Hemisphere when the first ever ‘Fest hits the resort for three days, from the 28th of July, which marks the second leg of the 2010/11World Snowboard Federation World Rookie Tour.

In true Camp/Comp spirit, competitors will be able to hone their skills with a bag jump and clinic session. Thredbo’s bag is the biggest in the Southern Hemisphere. Then it’s onto the specially constructed competition course for practice time.

The prize haul (male and female rookie + male and female grom) includes an all inclusive entry to the World Rookie Fest in Livigno (Italy) or the World Rookie Fest Final in Ischgl (Austria). Unfortunately travel isn’t included, but it’s a heck of a shopwindow for aspiring pros.
