Mountain Bike Guiding
Join one of our mountain bike guiding groups to sample the best riding for all levels. Our enthusiastic bike guide will help you explore the island and discover scenic coastal rides or more challenging terrain from epic downhill to single track and cross country trails. There will also be plenty of opportinity for more sedate cruises and family riders to enjoy the trails. Guiding is available all week.

The Mountain Biking
Expect a mix of fire tracks, singletrack trails and stunning coastal riding - the mountains of Vassiliki also provide downhill riders with some spectacular descents and plenty of vertical drop.

It is an absolute must for mountain bikers who want a mix of gentle and more challenging terrain, in a place with such a lengthy history. The result of wars and peace, invasions and rebellions, building and destruction, Lefkada is a fascinating place to explore by Mountain Bike. There is an endless supply of goat tracks and fire roads dotted with forts, churches, monasteries and other historic buildings scattered across the mountainsides, some are intact whilst others have suffered from inflicted human damage and others from numerous earthquakes. The island itself is criss-crossed with goat tracks, trails and roads which give mountain bikers access to a huge area of the island.

Windsurfing

One of Vassiliki’s main attractions is the amazingly predicable thermal wind, known as ‘Eric’. This gradually picks up from a mid-morning force 1 to 2, reaching anything from a force 4 to force 7 in the afternoon. For beginners and those trying out new moves, the gentler morning conditions are absolutely perfect.

Around Vass:

The immediate area surrounding Vassiliki is full of small coves and hidden bays, some of which can only be reached by sea - great boat trips. For walkers, Lefkada is an amazingly verdant island to explore, with olive and citrus groves as well as small pine forests on the hillsides giving some shade. White beaches and amazing cliffs define the coastline; further inland there are astounding gorges, springs and waterfalls just waiting for walkers and mountain bikers to discover.

Located at the windward end of the beach, which can offer a pleasant breeze during the hotter months, The Surf Hotel is right on the beachfront, with only a few steps to the shoreline. The town of Vassiliki, at the Eastern end of the bay, is packed with charming traditional buildings, centred around the harbour side. The tavernas are surprisingly good value, and the perfect place to relax and watch the comings and goings of the many small craft and sailing yachts in the quaint harbour. A ferry and fishing port as well as a popular stop-over for flotillas, there is almost always something unfurling or unfolding.
