Overview
Alp dhuez is home to the longest Downhill mountain bike run in the world - the famous Megavalanche! This track streches for a staggering 32 kms from the Pic Blanc Glacier at 3330m down to Allemont at 700m! The resort has 121kms of dedicated DH runs and 112km of marked XC and Freeride trails. The ski lift system is open all summer for mountain bikers of all abilities.
Alpe D’Huez is as famous for cycling and mountain biking in the summer as it is for skiing in the winter. There are many popular cycling events staged in the resort throughout the summer season including a legendary leg of the ‘Tour de France’.
Megavalanche
This challenging downhill run called the Megavalanche gives thrills and spills each summer from the glacier on the top of Pic Blanc covering a vertical drop of almost 3000m to the valley below and a distance of 32kms!
Every year there is the Megavalanche race (July) and attracts 1800 bikers of all levels, competing for fun and enjoying the festivities in the evening, the sunshine and great mountain biking in Alpe Dhuez. The time to beat for this race 58 minutes 7.29 seconds!

Mountain biking Alpe d huez 
Thanks to the efficient and extensive lift system in Alpe D’Huez mountain bikers of all abilities have easy access to the 250km of trails of mixed terrain. Some excellent DH and Singletrack heaven! It is possible to enjoy up to 10,000m of descents in one day, if you are mad for it!
