Jet2 pick up collapsed airline's Gatwick slots
The spare capacity at Gatwick left by recent collapse of Hamburg International Airlines has been picked up by Jet2.com. The airline, primarily based from the Midlands northwards, will service those ski passengers of Inghams, Esprit, and the Tui group who would have flown with Hamburg.
The Office of Fair Trading is considering an investigation into the recently announced merger of Thomas Cook and Co-operative Travel Service. Independent tour operators have expressed concern that the new group, with a 30% share of the high street market, will promote Thomas Cook products over others. This news comes on the heels of Easyjet linking up with LowCost to offer holidays on the Easyjet site.
