Swatch TTR Snowboard Tour Trophy design winner announced

The winner of the competition, announced in February 2010, to design a new logo for the Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour has been announced. At the TTR Snowboard Tour annual assembly in Barcelona, Axelle Dorado (from Lausanne, Switzerland) was unveiled as the winner. She wins an all expenses paid 14 day trip to the World EXPO, for two. The EXPO, in Shaghai features amazingly designed pavilions from all over the world, include the UK’s astonishing ‘Seed Cathedral’.

The trophy was designed by German ‘Coarse’ artist Mark Landwehr; Dorado won the competition for the graphic design to go on to Landwehr’s work. Her ‘kissing lips’ logo is meant to be the kiss a winner gives to the trophy.

The men’s and women’s 2009/10 titles were won by two Finns:  Peetu Piiroinen and Enni Rukajärvi. The top three nations for the men’s competition were Finland, Norway and the USA, while for the women it was the USA, Norway and Switzerland. Burton ran away with the brand ranking.

The judging panel included Snowboard greats Terje Haakonsen and Reto Lamm, Swatch President Arlette Elsa Emch, Pascal Johansen and Mark Landwehr himself. Swatch will be producing a limited edition watch incorporating the lips logo sometime in 2010/11.
