Peetu Piiroinen @ Stockholm's 'Stadium Winter Jam'
Stockholm’s Olympic Stadium plays host to the second Big Air event of the LG Snowboard FIS World Cup season: the ‘Stadium Winter Jam’. A field of 70 riders is expected over the weekend of 20/21 November in the Swedish capital.
Marko Grilc (fresh from his victory at London’s Freeze Festival) and Gjermund Braaten (winner of the recent freestye.ch comp) will be competing, as will Seppe Smits (3rd in London). The Finns will want to return to their winning ways, having achieved a clean sweep of the podium in 2007, and winning in 2008, they were shut out in 2009. Janne Korpi and Peetu Piiroinen will be spearheading their attack, in a competition which Korpi won in 2007 and 2008 (as well as victory at last year’s Quebec Big Air), and Piiroinen took 2nd at the inaugural event back in 2006.
